They stop working with ink in them.

Intially I loved them. I received one from my employeer during teacher appreciation week. I loved it and boought the whole pack. however, they keep stopping to write with a full cartridge of ink. Its super frustrating.

Leaking all over

I bought these about a month ago and they have leaked all over my desk and pen holder. I was so excited to find a washable pen while working from home so when my young kids steal my pens I don’t have to worry about them making a mess so this was very disappointing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love, with one downside.

While I absolutely love the colors of these pens and the way that they write, they are not refillable or recyclable. Please Crayola, either sell refills or add these to your recycling program. The ink runs out about as fast as a typical gel pen, which means just more plastic added to landfills. As a Lehigh Valley science teacher who loves your products, help me love one more.

Totally Unexpected!

I was so excited to buy these and I really wanted to love these pens, unfortunately they were quite disappointing. They worked well for all of 2 minutes then the pen would go dry and stop writing smoothly. I thought I must've bought a dud pack or perhaps the pack I bought had been in storage for so long the ink dried out, but upon reading the other reviews on these pens from multiple websites I can see that many other buyers found them just as disappointing. I have hardly used the pens and yet I have to shake and shake and shake each pen while writing only to write two words before needing to do it all over again. I would not recommend these pens, nor would I be buying them again.

Not washable.

Pens are great colors and look great, but ARE NOT WASHABLE. My daughter got the blue on a 100% cotton quilt that we saved up for and the color hasn’t dulled or faded even a little! We washed it about an hour after it got marked up. We are both really sad.

Of course, you are feeling blue. We are sorry for your disappointing experience with the Crayola Take Note! Washable Gel Pens. The ink is designed to wash from most launderable clothing and skin. Below is a cleaning suggestion you can try. As with all of our suggestions, please test this in an inconspicuous area to ensure you are happy with the results. If this tip does not do the trick, please contact us at 1-800-CRAYOLA. We ask that you retain the package and stained quilt until the stain is completely removed. - Chris, Colorful Care Team
Before laundering, rinse the stain from the fabric with hot water until no more color can be removed. Machine wash in hot water with laundry detergent for about 12 minutes (heavy soil cycle). Do not use prewash or chlorine bleach. Do not put the garment in the dryer. Soak in a solution of Oxi Clean or Clorox 2® according to the instructions on the container for one hour. Let the garment air dry. Repeat laundering should remove any residual stains. Do not heat-dry between washings.
If the ink has soaked through multiple layers of fabric (like quilts or comforters), or left on the fabric for longer periods before washing, may require additional cleaning and supplies.
Optional cleaning materials you may need: Amodex® Spot Remover or Amodex® Stain Swipe Wipes
First, test Amodex Spot Remover on an inside seam or hidden area. Apply Amodex Spot Remover to the stain and allow it to sit for about 10 minutes. Gently scrub the area using the Amodex Stain Swipe Wipe or a soft brush. Rinse with water, and repeat as needed to remove as much ink as possible. Lastly, machine wash according to the instructions above or hand wash the fabric using laundry detergent.

Leaks After 2 Months

These pens write great. They are my favorite pens in my classroom. However, I had to throw away 4 of them within the past two weeks for leaking in my pen cup on my desk. For the leaking, I cannot see myself purchasing these again.
