Samsung Odyssey G8 Delivered!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So i got this monitor to replace an older style Samsung monitor and this thing sure was an upgrade in alot of ways. Ill do a pros and cons.
Cons
Switching from HDMIs is terrible because you must go to home screen, go to connected devices, pick your input, wait for original input to load in before you can switch, and then select it.
If you are using HDMI the monitor has a hard time trying to pick up console. It will stutter and freeze forcing you to unplug and plug the monitor back in to refresh the input signal. It does not do that on the display port. Also this doesnt happen every single time you do it either.
The display resolution on console it cuts off the sides of the screen leaving you to only use the middle. If I am buying a 34-inch monitor, I’d like to play on a 34 -inch screen. I get this isnt necessarily Samsungs fault.
Its only 175 hertz which as a gaming monitor is lower for a high-end monitor and price. Id of just like to of seen 240 Hz
Pros
The OLED panel on this thing looks awesome, the picture – great, gaming content looks good, HDR works perfectly. The quality and sharpness of the picture is definitely a huge improvement from older generations and definitely worth the upgrade on its own.
It has speakers that are decently good. They have directional audio that shocked me on how good it sounded for internal speakers.
Doubles as a TV. Honestly id of liked to of seen this not included and them focus more on other things but at the same time I didnt realise how much i missed having the simplicity of a TV in my gaming room.
The game mode menu really simplifies and helps bringing out the true potential of the monitor itself. You have to utilize this menu if you want max frames and fast latency. Plus theres some extras in there like virtual red dot and mini map magnifier thats cool.0
Its less bulky than the older versions. Very slim and easy to look at on a desk.
All in all I give this 4 stars due to the hassle of switching HDMI ports. I utilize this alot due to playing on console and pc and its just aggravating on how this isnt simpler or at least done with no issues. Its not to bad of a reason not to use it and I will probably use this monitor for the next 3 or 4 years so I am happy with my purchase.

Dual gaming and Streaming Monitor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently purchased the Samsung Odyssey G8 Gaming monitor and I am in love! I currently just have it hooked up to my gaming laptop and the graphics are incredible. I’ve hooked it up to my husbands gaming PC and its absolutely stunning visually. The curve is at the perfect angle to see everything with ease.
One of the amazing things about this monitor as well is that it connects to Wifi on its own so it can be used as a tv as well. I’ve connected it to all of my streaming services and watching a lot os movies and shows on it and the graphics and colors are wonderful.
Its got a very sleek and thin profile so you can fit it in a small space if needed.

Perfect Sized Monitor

The screen size is perfect for gaming, providing an immersive experience without feeling overwhelming. The 1800R curved screen really draws you into the game, so you don't have to worry about constantly turning your head. I play a lot of Rocket League, and having a high refresh rate is crucial. With the 175Hz refresh rate, I feel like I have an edge over the average player. The sleek design of the monitor adds a modern touch to my desk setup, and it looks just as good as it performs.

Best Gaming Monitor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Samsung OLED G8 is a fantastic monitor. It’s expansive 34” ultra widescreen allows for immersive gaming and more productivity at work. The screen provides amazing contrast and the fast refresh of the OLED panel means a faster response time. I don’t know if it’s the monitor or not but my gaming seems to be little better since getting this. It’s easy to setup, looks great out of the box (tweaking it can yield an even better picture), the settings are familiar and easy to use, and the solar remote is fantastic. No more reaching behind the monitor and fiddling with a joystick. I’m also a huge fan of the built in speakers which means there’s one less thing on my desk now. Bottom line is that this monitor is fantastic whether you’re playing the latest games or trying to get more done at work. Pick one up… you won’t be disappointed.

A Totally New Experience

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was amazed by how lightweight this monitor is. It made the setup super easy and the included walkthrough is very intuitive. All necessary connections you would need are included and clear explanations are provided. Initially, the monitor was too bright for a member of our family, but after a little research and tweaking the settings, we were able to achieve the perfect setup. The HDR quality is fantastic, with vibrant colors and deep blacks.
Getting used to the ultrawide screen is taking some time, but it should feel natural soon, especially once we move it back a bit. There are plenty of connections for other devices like TVs and game consoles. The home menu offers many features, including controlling our SmartThings devices, watching TV, and gaming through the game hub. The settings are extensive, including RGB lighting on the back.
I am extremely satisfied with this monitor so far and I definitely give it a perfect score. I have a few games in mind that I have already played that I can't wait to play again on this monitor. I'm very excited. Thanks!

Elevate Your Gaming and Entertainment Experience

The wide screen has taken his gaming and streaming experience to the next level. The clarity of the image combined with the curved screen have given him the perfect set up. The 1800R curved screen and 175 Hz refresh rate provide a truly immersive gaming experience that will be hard to beat! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been looking to upgrade my monitor for a while now and finally landed on this one because of how powerful and versatile it is - I've been very happy with my choice! I use my monitor for both work (I work from home) and for gaming, and this monitor doesn't compromise on either. I was wanting an OLED monitor, but was worried about burn in when I use it for work because of all the static tool bars and applications I use - thankfully this monitor has some features to fight burn in, which was a huge draw for me. It also has a matte coating that doesn't really bring down picture quality, and makes it much easier and more comfortable to work or game without glares and reflections. Between this and the curved screen, high refresh rate, and great response time, using this monitor has been a great experience.
The monitor also has some nice extras - it has built in gaming and streaming applications, which make it feel more like a monitor/gaming console/TV combo. It also has RBG lighting built into the back that can sync to what's on screen, which makes it really cool for gaming and streaming. I'm really liking this monitor so far!
