[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the Cuisinart Coffee Maker, 14-Cup Glass Carafe, DCC-3200P1 in 2017 and although it's still working I decided to purchase the Cuisinart CHW-16 12-Cup Coffeemaker & Hot Water System about a month ago. I absolutely LOVE this coffeemaker for the following reasons: 1. The beep sound when coffee is finished brewing is much quieter, something I appreciate since I am "noise sensitive." For those who might not hear the beep, the CARAFE TEMP button illuminates when it's done brewing. 2. Since there are mostly just two of us drinking coffee, the 12 cup capacity is sufficient, and when we have company there's plenty for four large mugs. 3. The coffee and the water both brew hot--I tested with an instant read thermometer and the coffee is +/- 200ºF, the water a few degrees lower--plenty hot. 4. I use a 2 cup Pyrex measuring cup to fill the water tanks; for the two of us I pour in 4 cups. I've found this much easier than using the carafe, and no spills. 5. I really prefer a GLASS carafe so I can put it in the dishwasher every week (along with the lid and filter basket). I like that the lid comes off the carafe for easy cleaning. It is very durable, even though I've "clunked" it a few times against my sink. I even bought a spare carafe in case it broke--but it never did. 6. The hot water dispenser is a game-changer for me! I put a small stainless thermos on the stand and fill it with hot water while the coffee is brewing, then put a lid on it. When coffee is ready, I pour mine in my mug and my husband's in the thermos since he drinks his later. After sliding the water lever back to LOCK, I remove the thermos from the stand, and place a folded paper towel on it to catch a drip or two if necessary (I re-use it). The stand removes easily for taller mugs. 7. I have the coffeemaker/hot water ready to turn on in the morning but do not program it to turn on since I'm never sure when I'll wake up. ;-) 8. My afternoon coffee uses the 1-4 cups feature which works well. 9. I do not miss the "BOLD" setting from my old coffeemaker; if I want it stronger I simply add a bit more coffee. 10. The carafe pours beautifully--no drips or dribbles. 11. It brews fairly quickly and I set the carafe temp to LOW so it can wait a few minutes while I finish getting my breakfast without "cooking" my coffee. 12. It makes some brewing noises which bothers some people, but I don't mind at all. I have low cabinets, and pull out the coffeemaker to brew, and have NOT noticed any leaking or excessive steam. 13. I am so thankful for the clock display change--I hated the blue light background on the old coffeemaker, this one is easier on my eyes and simpler to read. 14. The entire design is simpler and more attractive in my small kitchen.
Things I've learned: - After every brew I remove the carafe and filter basket to partially fill with warm water (and soap for the carafe), and clean in the dishwasher every week (at least) to ensure coffee oils are removed. I also leave the brew lid open to air dry. - My old Cuisinart did not illuminate the CLEAN button until two months ago (!!), but I use filtered water and decalcified every month; I plan to do the same with this one. I had hard water deposits under the lid I could never remove; now I am sure to wipe dry under the lid to minimize that. - My old Cuisinart's hot plate got nasty looking, but I realize I was not careful about wiping any coffee drips (hard on the finish); now I wipe with the damp dishcloth used for under the lid. - Even though I use filtered water, I do use the charcoal filters--so thankful they are the same size for both coffeemakers since I had a supply on hand.
I'm donating my old functioning coffeemaker and totally enjoying my new one!

Pretty good brewer. It’s a little complicated to put in the water with a water heater for tea thrown in the mix which we didn’t know about. The spout for the hot water was misleading. Looks like a milk frother which I would prefer since we are latte people. The pot runs very hot.

Makes great coffee. I have used cuisinart coffee pots for over 20 years. I bought this one so I would have the separate hot water for the tea drinkers that don’t want coffee tainted tea

This coffee maker works really well and is easy to use. I wish the lid tipped back for easier filling. You have to remove the lid completely to fill the carafe. Otherwise, it’s perfect!

I am so impressed with the great taste of coffee, use organic whole bean ground. Coffee comes out hot and stays hot. Love the hot water dispenser for tea.

This works well for a tea and coffee household. This coffee maker makes a great cup of coffee and is easy to use. Having the separate tank for hot water has made my life easier as well. I don't have to have multiple machines on my counter.

Coffee dispenser works fine. Unfortunately, there is a taste of Coffee with the hot water reservoir, so it's kind of useless.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
