I bought this a month ago. I'm averaging using it 4 days a week.
Upon prompt delivery, the box was quite mutilated, had gotten wet and had been covered in plastic type wrap companies use for shipping. I think that was the doing of the delivery people. Fortunately it was all intact with no damages.
After opening the box, it took quite a bit of strength to get it out of the box and set up. I found the weight of it quite hardy, and this is coming from a gal who goes and throws hay from time to time to the cattle and picks up her 80lb son periodically too.
I leave it set up beside my dining room window so it is easily accessible for daily use. I couldn't imagine having to take it down and put it up for daily use. I took it down when guests were coming over for a party and that's prob the only time I'd do that. Also, I highly recommend something to protect the floor if you have any flooring you care about. It's already worn some on my hardwood, so I put down a towel.
I use the Training Deck cards at the top of the machine. I picked the routine I wanted to do and pulled the cards and do them and rotate them out as I go through. Makes it real simple. No TV/ DVD/laptop needed. That is the best feature I like outside the quality of the machine.
Personally, I'm not loving the DVDs I've tried so far. I find them dated and too fast paced for a beginner. I've tried some YouTube videos too, but I really like the simplicity of the Training Deck cards the best. It works as I can go at my own pace and ability, and I'm seeing results in my strength getting better. That's why (DVD's not great) I gave it the 4 stars instead of the 5 stars. That and its not as mobile as displayed on the infomercial, nor am I seeing the weight loss I would've hoped for after a month of watching my eating and working out.
The best side effect is the kids are liking it - they hop on and do some basic exercises and in turn are taking less wear off the couch now with it out for them to use. It's great in that respect!

It’s very time consuming to change from one exercise to the next. Also this machine is not designed for people under 5 ft.

I have been using my Total Gym for over a month now and I love it! I have been going back and forth about what type of equipment to buy. The biggest question that I had was would I use it or would it become a clothes hanger? I used it consistently and I feel so much better. I have a long way to go on my weight loss journey but I am getting physically fit in the process.

My son and I have been using t bgg e total gym for a month now. Love the convenience of working out in my home. The one thing I dont Like is that it is heavy and hard to set up and put away because of this.

The Total Gym XLS has met all my expectations. I'm an energetic 65 y/o and a former active gym member - the equipment works for me. The pully / incline configuration allows me to work my entire body- there are no exercise trade-offs. All from the safety of my home.
