In the past year I have gained about 12 pounds and was feeling very uncomfortable in my own skin. I truly believe I gained weight because I am not as active as I used to be when we were remodeling our house ourselves including digging the basement by hand and in my mid 50's. I don't eat any differently than I have for years.
I have NEVER worked out in my life and when I have tried over the past couple of years I hated it. Even tried dance exercises because I love to dance but did not find myself to be very coordinated.
I bought the total gym after seeing an infomercial on television one Saturday morning and I never watch television on Saturday mornings. After 30 days I feel great and think I am regaining some muscle particularly in my arms. The companion DVD's are wonderful and very motivating. Even if I don't feel like working out or exercising I put in a DVD and do it with ease. The trainers explain why you are doing what you are doing, what it will do for you and encourage you to do your best even if you cannot keep up with the trainer(s).
I don't think I have lost weight but I feel good which is what I want to accomplish. It has only been 30 days so I will continue to do my best and hope to make additional progress and tone more muscles.
It is a little heavy and does take up a lot of space if you are going to leave it open and not fold it. Even though the youtube videos posted by individuals who have purchased it state it is light weight. I am able to open and close it by myself however and roll it to store.
