got the xls 6 months ago, good promotion and price for machine, had a less expensive model years ago...this one blows it away! using resistance is a fine way to lose weight and get in shape. wish i had weights to go with the weight bar...adds 60% more resistance with a 100 lbs of free weights, so 100 lbs is like adding 60 lbs to your body weight. good enough for me! good invention this workout device is, an all in one powerhouse that if used properly, will help you.

I had a total gym from before but it was getting old and I wanted a newer heavy duty exercise machine I could do more and different exercises. I am 61 years old and have already shed 6 lbs, built more muscle and shed a couple of inches off of my waist. I would advise everyone who is able to try a total gym.

I've wondered about the Total Gym for years. When I had to get rid of my weights and bow flex due to a recent move for work I decided to finally take the plunge. Overall I think it's a great investment and have enjoyed using it. It's a bit difficult for me to get a proper leg workout using only the total gym and it can be a bit unstable at times (I've been told the Fit model has added stability - and wish I went for that model). Ultimately it's a great product for the price and I will continue to enjoy using it!

bought this as a Christmas present. It came defective. The bench fell off the track the first time used. metal bench flanges bent also.3 of the four wheels keep falling off. Put two huge permanent gauges in the bedroom floor. Opening and closing the machine is very difficult for someone who is not agile or strong. Would be better if some type of leverage handles could be attached. No place to grab onto. Fingers can pinch easily. I'm 6'2" 195lbs and I have trouble opening it and closing it. Very difficult to place bench on incline. Difficult to guide handle lock pin into angle holes.Wife cannot do it. Machine extremely heavy so be careful. Once all that is done, a fairly good workout can be obtained. But may be way too frustrating for those short of patience to get to that point. Bought it because I'm a huge Chuck Norris fan and a former martial arts black belt in jiu jitso.
