I was going to a pilates class twice a week and it became to be very expensive. So I started going only once a week and I couldn't get the results only working out once a week for an hour. I seen a commercial with the XLS and it had a lot of similarities to a pilates machine and for the same cost of the entire machine would I only have 2 months worth of pilates classes if I went twice a week. It was a no brainer to go with the total gym. I received the total gym very quickly after ordering it and it works exactly as I imagined.

I use it every day for at least 15 minutes. There are so many different exercises that it is impossible to get bored. It is very well made and quite sturdy

After months of use I still enjoy using the DVDs to quickly get a great workout. After years of lifting weights its a relief to be able to get a good workout without the stress on my joints or the waste of 15 minutes commuting to the gym. Working out at home saves me an hour a week! That's a lot of time wasted in the car, plus gas money. Also, a professional natural champion bodybuilder said it was possible to get good workouts on the Total Gym which gave me confidence to make the purchase.

I injured my back severely when I was pushed off of a subway car and fell between the train and the platform in 2007. It appeared that I may have injured my back permanently because I have pain in 3 core areas - my left leg from the hip down, my lower back and my upper back. The pain sometimes is so severe, I can think of nothing else. When I ordered the total gym, I ordered it because the Founder said it is used in rehab centers all over the country and that was its original audience.

Have a great time useing my total gym. Am disabled so have not been able to keep body inshape until now. Have a metal shoulder which has never been right or been able to strenghten until now. Have a 14 in plate that goes thur my knee and up side my femur bone with 13 one a half inch long screws putting it mildely walking is painful. With the total gym I can keep my leg in shape enough were walking is not so painful. Could not throw a football,baseball,frizebee,or most things with bad shoulder for the last 33 yrs. Now with totalgym I will be able to do things for the frist time while my kids are still teenagers. Could not play with them growing up but totalgym has giveing me my life back somewhat. Please wacthout for motorcycle riders there peopple too.

It takes a while to get used to setting up/tearing down and switching out all the parts. I find the workouts take longer than the literature states. I'm a middle aged woman with significant arthritis, and I think this product is helpful in maintaining muscle strength/mass, and overall flexibility. I really like how it makes me feel.
