Just What I Needed

I am a 50-year old professional woman who was always in excellent fitness into my 40s via hiking, running, mountain biking, windsurfing, etc. In my mid-40s I married the man of my dreams and relocated to his home. Everything in life was wonderful except that my commute became almost three times as long as it had been, my laundry and cooking time increased, and my single-woman habits were not something I could adhere to. I could no longer exercise as much as I had, and being married also meant an increase in eating and drinking wine. It goes without saying that my life got much better in many ways, but my physical fitness level suffered greatly. I was still exercising, but the quality and frequency had decreased, and with increased caloric intake via more food and wine, I gained nearly 20 pounds, nearly all of which seemed to settle in my abdominal region. Because I was extremely fit before this, the 20 pounds certainly did not make me obese - but the gain made me feel sluggish, bloated, and mildly depressed. Not being one to watch much television at all, I might not have ever seen the Total Gym infomercial, but I came across it one evening and was intrigued. I promptly ordered the XLS model. It arrived on a Friday, and I set it up the next morning. The day following my first workout in the Beginner video, I was extremely sore. A few more days of workouts brought a much tighter feeling to my torso. A few weeks later, I could feel that my torso was becomming smaller. I can feel this firmness in my torso increasing steadily and am looking forward to acheiving a return to my sleek shape. Total Gym gave me exactly what I was missing. It applies many of the principles of Pilates, and I feel balanced and strong in a way that lifting weights does not provide. The glide board is smooth, providing for movements that are silky and fluid. Only two weeks into the workouts, my husband commented that I was looking very toned. That's the best compliment of all! I use the fun every day. My son and I have both lost inches and fight over it every day. The best thing are the excessive charts. My son and I have different routine so we each have our own cards and follow them.the slider makes noise when most weight is on the left side. Seems slider catches on one of the rubber fasteners.

Convenient and Effective

We purchased our Total Gym 6 weeks ago and we know that it's effective because my husband and I have both had to adjust our routines for more resistance. We are in our 50's and wanted something we could both use for health reasons. The Total Gym works well for each of us even though he is 6'2" and I am 5'2". The variety of exercises is endless and I feel we will be able to use it indefinitely.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Quiet, Comfortable, Strengthens, Sturdy, Easy To Use, Works Well For All Height

I love the low impact of the exercises. My problem is that my husband and I work long hours so by the time we get home, have dinner, and do things around the house we don't commit time to exercise as we should.
