While this may be totally different than most reviews, it DOES apply to someone that is older (late 70's). It does give you a workout, but is not as easy to get into the exercise positions that is implied in the videos. It also "implies" that there are wheels that make it easy to store - not true. We find it cumbersome to setup and move around -Unless a person has a larger room to leave it set up. The quality though is very good, and well made. That being said, I don't think we would have ordered it if we know these facts. As far as recommending to a friend??? that would depend on their age.

I bought a total gym 1400 about a year ago and was really pleased with it. I have recently upgraded to a XLS and am a little disappointed that it does not have the incline or the attachments that the 1400 had. Overall I believe that it will give a good workout. Just disappointed it did not have all that it's little brother had.

Recently purchased my Total Gym XLS and very pleased with it. Having used the Total Gym with physical therapy patients, I knew it would be what I would want in my home once I retired. Easy to set up and use.

The only reason i didn't give 5 stars is the foot stand is too short. Redesigning to make it adjustable or larger should be standard.

I purchased the Total Gym XLS with AbCrunch attachment about one month ago to allow me to start exercising again as I have been teleworking for the last 6 months and do not have access to the gym at my work. I am 53 years old and weigh 105 pounds. I love that this machine allows me to adjust how difficult the exercises are based on my comfort level. I have learned how to do about 14 different exercises on the machine and I still have so many more to learn. The videos help a lot and the exercise cards are easy to follow. I can definitely tell I am getting great workouts and my body already feels more toned. I use the machine 3-4 times a week for 30 minutes at a time. I used to dread working out but with this machine I now look forward to working out. The machine is made extremely well and I can tell it will last a long time. I look forward to using this machine for many, many years. I’m so happy I purchased it.

I watched YouTube videos before I gave up and the more videos I watch the better i got! now I'm a pro at it and I love it I get such a challenging workout not just pumping weights but aerobically as well
