Have not used in a while due to surgery; can't wait to resume use! Really enjoy almost effortless, but effective workout.
Pros: It works, Comfortable, Quiet, Sturdy, Easy Storage
Cons: Bulky

This was my gift to myself. I keep my total gym set up so I can always get my exercise in. I love the fact that I am able to strength train, and stretch at the same time during my workouts. To remain flexible is important throughout your life. I cannot say enough good things about my total gym, other than this was the best gift ever. By putting my health first, I am working out almost everyday, I am so much more happier, and in 2 weeks I am down a whole pant size, with some extra room in the waist, butt, and leg area. It Works, and it is fun getting in shape with my new total gym.

Great Machine

I received the Total Gym XLS just over a week ago, and have enjoyed working out on it. I am 57 and surf, so I wanted something that was low impact, yet supplied the workout I needed to maintain the muscle tone needed to get back in the waves, working out when there weren't any waves. To be honest, I scoffed at the Total Gym for 30 years without ever trying one. I am pretty fit for my age, so I started on the intermediate DVD supplied with the gym, and got my butt kicked, what a suprise, what a great workout.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Comfortable, Quiet, Strengthens, Easy Storage, Easy To Use, Sturdy

I use my Total Gym two or three times a week, when I'm not out running or riding my road bike.The exercises are simple, and the more you become accustomed to the movements, the easier it gets to correct your form, and to do the exercises effectively. The cards make establishing (or mixing up) a routine so easy! Just put them in whatever order you'd like, and flip the cards over when you've completed the exercise! The attachments are really simple to use once you get the hang of it, which doesn't take long at all. If I had to complain at all, it would be that sometimes it's hard to look at the cards, and determine if I am performing the exercise the best way possible, in order to get the best benefit. I know that it's hard to show all of the best angles in one photo, but that's a minor complaint. Overall, My husband and I are very happy with our purchase!!

I wanted a bowflex originally, but my husband suggested the Total Gym. I thought yeah ok you want it just because of Chuck Norris, but to be fair I checked it out. I read a ton of reviews about how great and fun it was. I have to admit I was skeptical as I have always been a gym person who loved the weights and treadmill etc. but just about every review I read was great. So we agreed to order it and return it if we were not happy. It has been a year now. It is important to note that I loved working out but my husband absolutely did not. He has used the total gym regularly! I was shocked at his new found commitment. For a work out, I can see why people said it was fun, you get good results for so little time, you don't have to worry about hurting yourself, or flaring up old injuries,and you feel good afterwards. He only works out 20 mins a day, and sometimes every other day and has lost 20lbs!! He does not do the treadmill ever or any other cardio, except the occassional bike ride. His friends tell him he looks ripped now, and I believe that also helps him stay committed. I myself have also lost weight and have toned up quite a bit, but the real success story is for my husband, who never liked working out and has lost so much weight. I highly recommend this machine to anyone and everyone. The DVD's that came with it was also great, as after following the 20 minute work out for a few times you end up doing it by memory, and after a while you add some of your own to it, or can do your own work out with all the cards for different exercises for different body parts. I am not a huge pilates fan, but the pilates DVD was excellent. It was a longer work out but if you like pilates, I am sure you would love this machine. I do not usually write reviews, but I really wanted to this time just because I think everyone should get one!!! So to the skeptics, give a try, you can return it if you are not happy, but I am sure you won't!

We have had our Total Gym XLS for a little over 7 months now. My husband was skeptical when I told him of my purchase. When it arrived, it was incredibly simple to set up. I won't say assemble, because it was so easy! I did the 6-8 min workout & loved it! My husband got on shortly afterward & 'tried it out'for about 45mins; He loved it too! I have used it consistently since. If I miss a day or two,(as suggested, by Rosalie Brown) I make up the workouts in one day. My husband has been doing the 'advanced' workout 4x a week consistently, and still loves our Total Gym!I also want to add; I am a 38yr old female who has arthritis in her spine. I have never found any other means of working out/regularly that have ever worked as well. I have a 5 year old, & we are self employed. Between, time management & dealing with pain; Total gym has been the 'tool' I have been needing & searching for, to help improve my well being. I've put in a 14 hr day today, my back/neck & shoulders are hurting, and causing a terrible headache; But I am on way to my Total Gym after I finish this review. We are better off now, than before our 'Total Gym XLS' Thank you.

This product arrived very fast ! Fully assemled and ready to go in minutes. You can feel the quality and it is very quiet. I love it !! Ive had it just about a month and I have used it everyday. Makes working out fun, fast and enjoyable. I have found no negatives with it at all.

We bought this for our 15 year old son and he has enjoyed working out on it since he got it. He had no prior work out experience and wasn't comfortable going to the gym so this is something he can do in his own privacy. Also the beginner video is so easy to follow, and he cant' wait to go to the next level. I plan to start using the pilates video, I watched it and it also a good work out! Would recommend this to anyone!
