The Total Gym is everything you see on the TV ads. Easy to set up, easy to use and there's so many exercises you can do! I don't get bored.

Looks like its not going to do the things you want it to do until you actually get on it and try out the workouts. I have had surgery on both my shoulders and major back surgery. My main workout concerns were my legs and abs. This unit allows me to perform some workouts without straining either my shoulders or back. Perfect doesn't nearly describe what this machine is and how it helps me work on what I want without further injury.

Two years ago I fell & broke my hip & Pelvic...I've been watching you guys for years & than it dawned on me, this is what i need to build up the muscels all around my hip & upper leg.I bought The Total Gym XLS & have already benefited from it... i can walk better & my hip is't as painful as it was...I'm being benfited with other parts of my body. i only started these exercises....I'm going to be on it for the rest of my life I'm 75 now ..I wish i had bought it many yrs ago...Thank you Total Gym XLS

Very good quality, I am impressed. I hurt my lower back and the Total Gym was recommended for low impact excercise. I am very happy with it. My only complaint is I live in small quarters and cannot leave it open when not in use, to put it up and take it down it is heavy and difficult for me to maneuver.

the total gym XLS give you such a awesome workout, i use it for my abs and squats, Strength training. i got it back in January i lost 33 Pounds while using it, i had to send back my first total Gym because it got a crack on the frame while using it they were so nice got my new one back. i just love my total Gym XLS

Worth it, even with arthritis

I have arthritis, with 4 joint replacements before I was 55...the Total Gym is helping me to strengthen muscles around the joints not yet replaced, and improve strength in the muscles around the joints that HAVE been replaced. It takes a while to establish the 'perfect pesonalized routine', but it is worth it. Despite my arthritis, I'm able to fold it up and move it around, although it is a bit bulky, and I try not to move it too often. If I had to move it every day, I'd be much less likely to use it.
Pros: Comfortable, Quiet, Sturdy
Cons: Bulky for small women

I was becoming very obese. My long workdays made going the gym impossible and my arthritic, accident damaged knees and left foot made high impact exercise- even walking- painful. I've been watching the TotalGym ads with celebrities and testimonials by users and was swayed by the their genuine enthusiasm. So, I decided it was time to do something positive and I purchased the TotalGyn XLS. I've only been using it for a little over three weeks. I do feel more energized and have less pain in my knees and foot. My wife says she's noticed changes in my shape- less paunch and more definition. I like the workouts and believe I'm getting the exercise that I've been lacking all these years. I'm still in the beginner's program and find it to be a challenging and thorough workout. But I plan to keep advancing and expanding my program as my strength and endurance improve. I'm glad that I made the decision to purchase my TotalGym. I'm going to get my wife on the machine, too. This is generally a very well-engineered product. I have only two very minor nits about the product. 1) The stiff plastic tether on the safety pin exerts enough force to pull it out of place. Changing the tether to a more compliant material would alleviate this minor nuisance. 2) The glide board rail has a tendency to catch on the frame in certain exercises, limiting the travel of the glide board. This may be due to my 375 lb. weight, and I hope the problem goes away as I lose weight. Thank you for creating such a complete workout system and putting it into such a compact, affordable, and easy-to-use machine.
