I run most days 2-3 miles to maintain my shape and strength. In the winter its hard to run because of snow and very cold. I often go three months with minimal exercise and put on 15 pounds. This year I bought my total gym and have lost more weight and added strenght to my upper body. My wife said last week, after 6 weeks of useage that my body is changing (more muscle definition) and I've lost about 8 pounds without trying! Love the machine and will mix my running with the Total Gym in the spring.
Pros: Easy To Use, Comfortable, Quiet, Easy To Set Up

I am pleased with the performance of the total gym. Both my son and I use it and appreciate all the different exercises that can be done with the Gym. My only small disappointment is that it is harder to "fold up" for storage than it looks on the video, and the gym takes up quite a bit of space when in use (although much better than a bulky gym). I am going to get the cycle attachment for more aerobic variations. [...]
Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Use, Sturdy, Strengthens, Quiet
Cons: Too large for my space, Hard To Set Up

Second Total Gym in 15 Years
on March 4, 2011

I bought my first total gym in 1996 and had a full Bally's membership for the ten years prior hitting the gym 5 days a week sometime 2x a day. I had seen the infomercials with Chuck and been a fan of his from the early 1970's so I thought what the heck, if he uses it it must work. Like most I had other home gym equipment from simple to the extensive selector stack systems and thank goodness for garage sales. After my first use of the total gym I was hooked and been a fan ever since. Two years ago I injured my back and have been laid up along with back surgery adding 35 pounds of fat to my frame. This year, 2011, is my year to get back into shape. I followed the infomercials over the years with all the up grades and decided I wanted a new one using the justification my 15 year model was worn out, antiquated. A friend of mine had heard me speak of the TG and wanted to "borrow" my older unit and now he's hooked. I'm not getting it back. My original is still going strong and he's gaining results without injury. I ordered my new one with the pilates attachment and added the abdominal attachments as well. The greatest advantage is this unit allows me to target areas unlike "gym equipment" based on my level of fitness and allows several different exercises to build core results solidly. I orginally ordered the pilates to intrigue my girlfriend who is athletic but never used the TG and decided when I set it up to try the "girly" workout. OMG, it is a killer and I love it. I do my muscle and toning in the morning and can't wait to get home in the evening from work to run through the pilates stretching muscles, reducing stress and creating relaxation for an unencumbered night's sleep. I awake in the moring energized and ready to get at it again. The weekends especially this time of year I can get in 3-30 minute workouts a day easily targeting a different body part each time. I keep the unit setup in my home office and will when the mood stikes me jump on it to stretch or rip 100 abdominals. I have lost 8 pounds in the last 8 weeks and very happy with the results with another 27 to go. The videos and charts are excellent for positioning and posture to maximize results while suggesting alternative exercises to change up your routine. I've already challenged my company's owner as part of my bonus this year to purchase an XLS for the office to use throughout the day. I can't wait. Thanks guys.
Pros: Strengthens, Easy To Set Up, Easy Storage, Versitile, Adaptive, Easy To Use, Comfortable, Quiet, Unlimited positioning, Sturdy

I AM ACTUALLY DOING A 20 MINUTE WORKOUT 4-5 TIMES A WEEK. HAVING THIS HANDY AT HOME, I CAN USE IT FIRST THING IN THE MORNING. I DON'T GET SORE LIKE I HAVE WHEN USING SEPERATE EQUIPMENT AT THE GYM. I FEEL THIS DOES REPLACE ALL THOSE PEICES OF EQUIPMENT.
Pros: Easy To Use, Quiet, Strengthens, Easy To Set Up, Sturdy

Although I have not used this on a daily basis, as of yet, between my three children, my sister, and myself, it is used every day. My daughter's friends come over and use it also, when they spend the weekends. Over all, it is a very easy machine to use. I like how there are now weights to worry about, the exercises are simple, and you use your own body weight as resistance. The only thing that might be looked into is this - it is up to 400#, yet, you have to practically get down to the floor to get on it, and the exercises that you have to be on your knees for, kinda hurt a bit.... if there was a way to make it a touch sturdier, a little higher, and a little more knee friendly, it would make it a much better machine... :)
Pros: Sturdy, Quiet, Comfortable, Strengthens
I would recommend this to a friend!

This product is everything they promise. As an added value I purchased one from the scratch and dent department to save some money. The Total Gym was as good as new, the box looked a little rough but the actual product was flawless. I would definately recommend this product to family and friends.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Comfortable, Quiet, Great Value, Sturdy, Easy To Use
