I do not believe I am getting a good lower body work out. The lunges are too easy. I am not getting a good ab work out either. It should automatically come with the "ab cruncher". I am still considering returning it.

The best thing about the Total Gym is that we get a total workout on the one machine. My husband and I both use it six days a week, alternating between upper and lower body. We do also walk 2-3 miles a day five days a week. We are 68 years old. We have been using it for seven weeks now.

I have my Total Gym XLS for over a month but have already seen and felt results. I am very impressed with the ease of setup, the effectiveness of the exercises, the flexibility of the exercise cards, and how much my self-designed routine has already strengthened and toned by muscles. I am over 50 years old and decided it is time for a change in lifestyle to live a healthier life through a dedication to weight loss and strength/cardio training. I had been on a successful weight loss program before I started training with the Total Gym XLS, and now with the XLS I can attack both weight loss and muscle strengthening at one item. I am anxious to see where the XLS will take my weight loss and strength training goals over the next 8 weeks (my short term training/health plan). This product is so easy to use and do exercises on it that my 7 year old uses it everytime I am exercising. The useability and simplicity of the unit had me a believer the very first time I used it. After being a weight trainer for many years, this unit adds a degree of flexibility that regular gym equipment does not. A must buy for anyone at any age at any level of exercise experience.
