I do 5 exercises each workout for the week. I change to another 5 exercises the next week and keep rotating another 5 to prevent boredom and confuse the muscles to keep adapting which uses more energy. I like that the tension remains constant throughout the motion. Also, I like that core muscles are worked in each exercise.

Finally a workout I enjoy doing

I'm 58 with a hypertension. My heart medications reduced my metabolism and caused me to gain 60 pounds in 8 years. I walk every day and am on a low fat diet. Still the weight kept coming on. Now with the Total Gym I work out twice a day. I have only had the gym for a month, but I have lost 5 pounds already. My doctor can't believe my muscle tone. I am definitely a Total Gym believer.

I USE THE TOTAL GYM ALMOST DAILY TO FIRM AND STRETCH MY MUSCLES. IT IS THE BEST AND ONLY EXERCISE EQUIPMENT THAT YOU WILL EVER NEED. DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOUR AGE IS....YOUR BODY IS YOUR RESISTANCE AND YOU CAN WORK AS HARD, OR AS EASY AS YOU FEEL LIKE FOR THAT WORKOUT. I WISH I HAD INVESTED IN MYSELF YEARS AGO WITH THE TOTAL GYM!

Have been away from the gym for 5 months so we are slowly getting back into it. I have not used it to the capacity I will be. The only con I found is when I am done with an exercise I have to release the pulleys and they "snap" back, no real easy way to release, and grab them back again. I helps to grab them first but it is a little awkward then to get on.

After 6 days of Operation...GREAT!

I am the proverbial middle-aged, overweight, no exercise, over stressed, middle management woman. I searched for something that I could start REALLY slowly and work up to easy exercises and still feel like I was doing something good for myself. After doing 6 days of exercises I feel them, but I don't feel overwhelmed. With Total Gym's ability to increase as I progress I'm confident that this machine will help me through my progression into optimum health. The machine came ready to use. I can easily fold it up and stand it in a corner or unfold it to use so easily that I'm using it, look forward to using it. The DVDs are very helpful and positive. I feel I have found my thing that will move me to success.

Make sure you have a large enough room. Unfortunately, I didn't look at the dimensions and it is very hard for me to use in a small condo space. Written setup instructions are confusing. Watch the video BEFORE trying to set it up or you will be as frustrated as i was. I would recommend only to someone with a large spare room or garage for use.[...]
