For upper body work, the total gym is excellent. It provides good range of motion and is good for the beginner as well as more conditioned exercisers.

Great piece of equipment

I have never used any other piece of exercise equipment on a daily basis for as long as I have the Total Gym. (I've had my Total Gym for 3 full months now.) The Total Gym has a wide variety of exercises which strengthen and tone every part of my body, and it is extremely easy to switch between exercises. I can do a total body workout in about thirty minutes. I can feel that I am getting stronger. When I first started, I couldn't even do ten repetitions of some of the exercises, now just two months later, I have doubled the number of repetitions on nearly all of the exercises. The variety of exercises keeps me from getting bored, and the ease of use keeps me doing it every day. This is a sturdy, well built, excellently designed piece of equipment. It's easy to use and works all of the major muscles groups. It is great for gaining strength, toning muscles, and getting rid of flab! I normally don't take the time to write reviews for products, but the Total Gym is so outstanding, I had to speak up. I really, really like it and would recommend it to everyone.

It helps to loose weight and strengthen every muscle possible. Chuck and Christy are correct it is an all around gym.

The Perfect Workout Equipment

I use the total gym for strengthening and conditioning for tennis,biking and overall well being. I love the fact that it is all one piece. No changing heavy weights. The gliding bench is awesome.
