"I wish I had bought this long ago."

I use this product to lose weight. The things that are great about this product is that I can change from one exercise to another. I had problems dooing sit ups becuase I was not sure how to install the sit up bar. Overall I like this product.
Pros: Easy To Use

Unfortunately we haven't started using it like we would like to. But my whole family loves it. We are making a place in our bedroom for it so we can start working out everyday! I love this machine and would tell everyone that this machine is the only thing you need.

I use the Total Gym as a continuum from physical therapy on the Pilates Reformer. It's really fun to use, the modifications available are terrific, and I love having it at my beckon call any time I want to use it. That said, I need to customize routines, and it's difficult and strenuous to change height and attachments. I rarely use the videos because by the time I've changed height or attachment, the instructor is well into the exercise. For some reason, the cable drags on a label on the support bar, and the cable has come unattached on occasion. Lastly, it is really difficult for me to fold it for storage. I know it would be easier if I had it on a hard floor, but I don't have that available. I hope these comments are helpful.

Cons: Hard to store, Noisy Operation

Once I figured out how to set up my Total Gym, I loved it. The directions weren't real clear for set-up, and I did a lot of trial and error before successfully getting everything into place. However, once in place, it's been wonderful. I can do a complete workout in 30 minutes or less, and I'm really seeing results!
Pros: Comfortable, Strengthens, Sturdy, Quiet Operation
Cons: Hard To Set Up

Twice the results in half the time

In my 20's I was a workout-aholic and spent 2 hours a day at the gym. Then life happened...job, marriage, kids...and although I'm at a "normal weight", I have been exhausted and have had no desire nor the time to work out as I did in my 20's. Plus with the constant back-ache I've had since having my baby last year, I didn't want to add more aches due to working out. But I wanted the body and energy I had in my 20's back. So I thought I'd give TotalGym a try, and OMG I LOVE IT!!!! More than I thought I would. It gives me a good workout without hurting my joints (yikes, that makes me sound old!), I'm motivated because I can actually do the exercises and it doesn't make me feel like an out-of-shape loser (this was a huge stumbling block that has kept me from consistently working out for years now), and even though I have the sore muscles a couple of days later, they're not so sore that it's hard to move and make it through my day. All of the challenges that had kept me from working out over the last few years were solved by the TotalGym. Now I actually look forward to spending time with my Gym every day....I don't even call it a work out anymore (for the last few years, those words brought a negative feeling for me). But the cool thing is, it IS a workout that shows results pretty quickly. My favorite workouts are the abdominal ones- within a couple of weeks of starting, the gap in my abdominal muscles from my last pregnancy closed up (lots of you women probably know what I'm talking about- a diastasis) and my constant backache is gone!!! Woo-Hoo!!!! And my "muffin-top" is shrinking! My husband had back surgery 6 months ago, and he's been using the TotalGym to do his physical therapy/rehab exercises. We both love how smooth it is and how super-easy it is to move from one motion to the the next. I had started to give up on the thought of ever having an amazing body ever again, but now it's just a matter of time before that is a reality. I'm SO glad we got the TotalGym!

This is the best, and only, home gym item I will ever own. I use a *name removed* (cardio-type exerciser) for warmup, and the Total Gym for my workout. This is a great investment, especially for those who are prone to obtaining gym memberships and then not using them. This can be set up in the comfort of your own home, to be used on your own schedule.
