Excellent exercise for low back pain

I bought this machine because I needed to strengthen my core muscles to mitagate the pain caused by lumbar degeneration. I started using the Total Gym to stretch and strengthen the muscles associated with hamstrings and lower back. I soon found that I could also build the upper body muscles while not compressing my spine. I feel much better now. I have given away my other excerise equipment and use only the Total Gym to stay in shape. I liked it so much that I recommended one to a co-worker that was "too mature" for standard athletic equipment. He purchased a Total Gym and has worked with it regularly. The clincher is that when I told my doctor that I was using it, he confided that he also owned one and used it regularly. This is a good product and I wish that I had purchased one years ago!

I can't complain about my Total Gym. It's a rugged piece of equipment that provides a nice low impact workout. I'm one of those people that sits in front of a computer way too much so it was nice to hop on the Total Gym a few times a week and start seeing muscle where before I was skinny and flabby. I look forward to years of using the Total Gym to get me in shape and keep me healthy and strong.

It gives you a great workout

I love this product because of it's ergonomics. I have a bad back & plantar fasciitis, & it's the only workout equipment that doesn't aggravate either condition. It's easy to set up & use, it's quiet, & it produces smooth, fluid motion. It's compact for storing. And I like the workout videos you can use with it.

Very pleased with my purchase. It was easy to set up and use. It makes exercise fun. I have not used it too much because I had some surgery at the end of June. I never thought that I would look forward to having a doctor give me permission to exercise. I can't wait to get back to using it.

My only suggestion: the videos show average height to short women demonstrating. I'm 5'10". It would be helpful to see a tall woman using the equipment. There's a lot of little adjustments you need to do when you're tall (and watching the men just looks so different).

I LOVE MY TOTAL GYM XLS!

I am a 45 year old woman and getting fit at my age is not an easy feat. I have tried a lot of products in the past, but I have never found one that is so easy and fun to use that I keep using it! And it works! I love my Total Gym XLS! I bought my Total Gym XLS 3 months ago and since then, working out 3-4 times a week at 15 minutes a day, I have lost 5 inches on my waist, 3 inches on my hips and 3 inches on my thighs. I have toned up and slimed down and actually lost a size. My clothes fit me better and I feel better about myself. My pet name from my husband now is "Slim". I am not done by any means. I will continue to work out with the Total Gym XLS until I reach my goal and even after that to stay at my goal. The Total Gym XLS is easy to use and although it is easy to store and setup, I leave mine out all the time. That way, it is there when I am ready. The workouts are low impact and from the first time you use it, you can feel them working. The levels give you the opportunity to start out easy and move up when you are ready. The excercise cards and videos are like having your own personal trainer. This is the easiest and most fun work out I have ever had. Everything about this equipment is good, I have nothing bad to say about it at all. Best decision I every made. I would highly reccommend the Total Gym XLS to anyone.

I use my XLS Total Gym everyday for toning, strength training, flexibility, cardio and to help relieve back pain. It's so easy to use and never gets boring; been using one for 10 years. XLS is much better than the cheaper model I had before. You can go from one exercise to the next so quickly and what would take an hour in the gym to do, you can do in 20 minutes on the TG. Nothing beats a Total Gym!

Both my husband and I use the total gym. The ease of setup and ease of use leaves you no excuse to not work out. It's great to have one piece of equipment that we both can use easily. We have recommended the Total Gym to our friends, neighbors and co-workers.
