We bought the Total Gym XLS. This machine is so quiet while working out, I can watch the exercise videos or my favorite TV show. The first time I used the machine, I turned on a movie and watched it without my husband complaining the TV was to loud, which is a major plus for me, since I have a hard time hearing the TV or poeple talking when there is background noise. The Total Gym also gives a good cardio workout. So much so that my husband wants to get rid of our Versa Climber. I'm a little hesitant because of the money spent on the Versa Climer, but the Total Gym does provide a good cardio work out. I also enjoy the Pilates workout video and attachments. Not only do I get a good workout, it works on my flexiblilty at the same time. Any one looking for a peice of equipment to strenghen, tone and provide a cardio workout, this is the piece of equipment for you.
Pros: Comfortable, Sturdy, Increase Flexability, Quiet Operation, Easy Storage, Strengthens, Easy To Set Up, Easy To Use
Cons: Very long when on lowest

We really like the product

We are using the product at this time to help strenthen our muscles and try to get fit enough to really use it to lose weight. We have not done much exercise throughout our life and it is very difficult to get in the routine and be diligent about it. However we do want to lose the weight as we are both over weight. Love the product though. I know we will succeed with it.

I love the TotalGym!!

This is an excellent piece of equipment! I'm 41, in very good shape and a regular visitor of my local gym. I purchased the TotalGym to use at home on those occasions when I don't have the time or desire to go to my local gym. I've found it to be great for strength training, combining the gamut of other fitness machines into just one! I've also found it particularly useful for exercising my arms, back and abdominal muscles! I rated the TotalGym 4 out of 5 stars - only because there's always room for improvement!!!

Extremely Easy to setup. There are no excuses. Hop on, in under 30 seconds. Exercises are self explanatory, but the package comes with videos and cards/poster to help you figure it all out. You can flow from exercise to exercise with ease. Bicepts, to back, to tricpets, into abs or Abs, into tricepts, in to chest(iron cross) into chest(dips) and then again into abs. Its a great product and if used on a consistent basis you will definitely see results.

A great workout....

I havent found anything about the machine I dont like. My husband and I are both using it. We are very active and never found the need to "workout" but as we are aging our bodies are changing. Together my husband and I have lost 56lbs with the help of our Total Fitness gym and just watching what we eat. Thank you, thank you!!!!We will continue to tell everyone we know how great this machine is.

I really dont like to exercise...but I should put that in the past tense. Now I actually look forward to my pilates workout on this equipment. When I finish, I feel like every muscle in my body has been stretched and warmed...and my state of mind is greatly enhanced.

The Total Gym allows a good variety of movement and gravity resistance. I use it every day. However, like free weights, the Total Gym allows unconstrained movement. My classic weight machine constrains movement and allows one to focus on a specific muscle group better. Both designs have a place in the gym. (The weight machine is a Paramount CT 20 plus.)
