I had back surgery and the Total Gym has helped increase the strength in my back and abs. This is the only excersise machince that I have found that is easy to use and does not take up a full room.
Pros: Strengthens, Sturdy, Easy To Use, Comfortable, Quiet Operation

I have been mainly using the Total Gym to lose weight and strengthen my muscles. I realize now the importatnce in being in shape as I have gotten older.

Great product and easy to use

From the first day I used the TotalGym XLS, I was happy I made the choice to purchase this equipment. I do some infrequent lifting at work and found that because my muscles were unconditioned, I could easily injure myself. Now that I am using the TotalGym, lifting at work or anywhere is much easier. I had considered getting a gym membership but found them to be very expensive especially when you consider that my son also wanted to work out. The TotalGym is significantly less expensive than a gym membership in the long run and you can get a quality workout. I have only used this product for about 2 months and I have already lost 10 lbs and a couple of inches from my waist. It's almost time to buy new pants! Keep in mind that exercise alone will not allow you to reach your weight goals. You need to eat the right foods in the right quantity to get you to your goal weight. The TotalGym is easy to setup and store as described by the advertising. A couple of things that I see where this product falls short is when it comes to working out your legs. To get a proper workout for your legs, you should purchase the weight bar as well to provide more resistance. I also find that even though there are "aerobic" exercises that you can perform, they are not all that effective as other forms of exercise. In addition to TotalGym workouts, I also have started running to get some effective aerobic exercise as well. With this combination, you have a very awesome workout. This product does a great job in isolating your back if you had back injuries. I have a friend with a bad back and he was able to work out with ease using this equipment. If you have limited space for working out, need something easy to setup and store, this product is for you! I live in a condo and don't have room to leave the TotalGym set up. I can set it up and put it away in less than one minute.

I love my total gym. I use it in the evening while watching my favorite TV programs and before I know it I'm on the machine for 2 hours without knowing how long I have been working out.... The total gym does not make me feel like I'm forced to do a work out. And my joints don't hurt like they do when I run on the tread mill.

I went from exercising 0 days a week to 6 or 7 days a week because I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! 8 minutes a work out and I do 2 a day. What could be easier. I combine this with 12 minutes on the elliptical and I am done in 28 minutes!!! You have changed my attitude forever. I would however recommend that you set the DVD up to get to the exercises easier. Too much having to play the whole up front stuff everyday. That is annoying. Once you see the disclaimer you don't have to see it everyday.
