I received my total gym Feb.2,2008. I work 12 hrs shifts 6A-6P & 6P-6A. I have to admit I been working out to John Carleo's 6-8 min. a day for six days & then a day off. I have noticed bulking up in arms,chest & my weight is staying about the same. I'm 6'2" and about 189 lb's. I feel alot better by exercising. I like the design of the machine & the smoothness of operation. I have no problems with the XLS. I want to order the AbCrunch when it is availiable in April. I waited a long time to find the right totalgym! Thanks! Phil

I bought the gym because it was already set up and was less bulky than the wieder gym i bought 3 yrs ago which has NEVER managed to get set up. This is easy to manage and smaller, only problem I have is living in a very small town house. When all the kids come in EVERY weekend, they put all their stuff where I want to exercise and then I have to wait until they are gone (laugh) and I have the energy to clean up the mess they made to be able to set it up!! Never foresaw THIS problem! So doesnt get alot of use. But hopefully, soon!!!

This piece of equipment is great! One of my favorite things is that it doesn't seem to stress my joints like other machines and free weights do. It is actually fun to exercise with the Total Gym! I love it!

Overall a great product,however it is not easily moved nor stored! Not bad alltogether though.....for a product such as this it would be near impossible to make everything perfect. It also does take up a little more space than one may assume. However,it is a quality piece of equipment that is alone! The Total Gym's only competition is Bowflex which is far mORE expensive and way bigger! I caught a good sale,however even at regular price the purchase would be well worth it! Its great how fast you can go from squats to the cables to say an accessory. Lots of extras came with mine,very nice....not sure if they all do or if that was part of the sale. Total Gym also has lots of other models that you would never know about unless you look them up for yourself online. It would be nice to see future infomercials promote a wider range of products (While not abandoning the original infomercial models either).

Cons: Not easily stored, NOT easily moved, Bulky

I like the total gym. I hurt my shoulder and I have been using some of the exercises to strengthen my shoulder before golf season and it has worked wonders. I'm not going to the chiropractor any more, I'm just using the total gym. Only draw back is it is a pain to set up and take down so you really need a place you can keep it set up at all times.

Slide should have some way of locking in place after using handles rather than placing fist on slide. I am 68 with back problems and sometimes don't have the strength or coordination to get on and off easily.

I use this product in addition to my cardiac workout to get my strength training in and flexibility. I love all of the different muscle target groups that are worked on as well as the pilates feature. The only issue I have is the DVD that features a total gym workout goes too fast in between routines. I have to constantly pause it to change the equipment around. You put the wing bar on and than you take it off. Then a few exercises and you put it on again.. Too much.

I use it as part of my Martial Arts training.It has help me with my kicks.Able to strengthen my Abductors and Adductor muscles.The Jumping Squats are great too.
