WOW! The Total Gym is Awesome

This piece of equipment does it all! And you set your own pace. From the strength training to the easy flexability of changing the Total Gym is the thing I love the most. I'm 51 and was starting to look and feel my age, I could feel myself slowing down, well those days are over! I can run circles around all my friends who are at least 9 years younger than myself. Now I have to laugh when they tell me to slow down. Anyone looking to get in shape at their own pace should try this because it really works.

It IS a "TOTAL" gym!

I'm focused on tightening the ab area and building some muscle to replace some fat! After I followed the video trainers, I've taken the time to learn from the demo cards the best exercises that I can 'FEEL' the abs being 'USED'. Now I can just go do them in a few minutes and I'm done. The greatest thing is to be able to 'VERY' easily change the incline level up or down for different exercises to be accoomplished without pushing myself beyond what a beginner should be doing. The setups are a breeze (still feeling those abs being used). Slow and steady a few minutes a day and I hope to be able to report actual physical changes in the future. I like MY 'TOTAL' gym also because I don't have to sanitize it like I had to in a public gym after some sweaty 'guy' got off a machine! After spending too much $$$$$ on gym memberships that I hated to go to and didn't, now I exercise in comfort and 'PRIVICY'. Let's face it, if I have to have 'somebody' to exercise with I'm not committed to myself! Exercise is an individual committment and shouldn't be dependant on somebody elses motivation. MY money is much better spent on the TOTAL GYM. I can't find anything negative about it!

A fantastic workout experience

I am really pleased with my purchase! If the price seems a factor at first, PLEASE do yourself a favor and invest! It has already more than paid for itself! I bought the TG because I needed a change in my lifestyle, but I was not comfortable working out where others could see me. I also needed something that would work with my schedule, and at the right price. The TG fit those needs perfectly. I love to use low resistance and a circuit training routine to achieve a good cardio workout with the added benefit of some toning in my legs and abs while I do so. A few times a week I hop on and hit a higher resistance - I'm getting toned calves, thighs, abs, shoulders and arms without killing myself trying to work on unreliable machines at a gym. I started really hitting the Total Gym in December, and since then have lost 14 pounds...I now fit in pants that were very recently a couple of sizes too small, and the tone I used to have in my shoulders, back and legs is returning. I recommend that if you purchase, you take time to watch the videos and really read the exercise cards, it will help you plan an effective and safe workout. Do NOT skip on learning the setup, either - it can be a little tricky the first couple of times.

rehab torn muscles

I use total gym daily for 45 minutes. I torn my left rotator cuff muscle off-road riding a motorcycle (motocross) and had a long period before the torn muscle was repaired. My doctor thought I could recover on my own... I really enjoy my workout because it feels great to stretch my joints and meditate.. Im almost 58 and many incurred injuries enjoying a long active lifestyle. We make mistakes. The total gym relieves joint pain and strengthens the body..That is enjoyable. Addictive to me now that I have it. Now a new way of life in my late middle age. Because i can still do what i enjoy..Motorcycles. Just good ol fashion discipline to get in shape to do stuff.

I bought this for my sister for Christmas (knowong I would be able to use it also) and we both love it. I HATE to exercise, but it really is fun with the Total Gym.

A Truly Thoughtful and Useable Gym

I use my gym several times a week. I'm still learning the various exercises and using both the cards and the video to do so. I do find that the video does not allow reasonable time for attaching accessories and so I tend to run each segment twice just to get everything in. I am used to using free weights and training in a gym so I do find that there is less of a challenge in some areas than I know I need. Overall though, I love the machine and find that it is so handy not having to go or pay for a gym. It seems to be a perfit fit for me. I will say however my husband who is 6'1" 210 lbs finds that he is too big for the machine. While I would like him to use it and enjoy the benefits he is simply not comfortable doing so. [...] The gym was carefully packaged and it was reasonably easy to put together. All in all I am very pleased with my Total Gym.

I Love Working Out With This Machine!

I have to say I am now a frequent exerciser! I've never owned a strength building apparatus before and I must say I love the feeling of building up muscle and strength. It is very energizing! I've always focused on cardio before in my workouts but I'm amazed at the results I'm seeing and feeling already with the Total Gym after only a month. I definitely feel that my muscles are more toned and my abs are tighter. I'm going for a lean muscle look and I know that this machine can give me what I'm looking for. It's so versatile and the stretching that comes from doing the exercises has really incresed my flexibility. I'm glad that I made this investment in my body!

I use it every day. Never liked to exercise until I got my total gym. love to use it. I am 61 yrs old and it is great. If I can use the total gym anyone could. I like every thing about it. Only one thing about the bike, that could be improved is not to have to take the batteries out each time after use. that is a pain. enjoy use it very much.

No need to remove Cyclo Trainer batteries after each workout. The digital monitor will automatically power down after 5 minutes of non use.
