this is my second Total Gym 1500, as I bought the first on 14 years ago but sold it following a,difficult life event. I decided to reinvest and upgrade after extreme weight gain with declining health, plus depression associated with feeling old as I am turning 50 this year.
I am using my Total gym 3-4 Times a week and feeling a positive difference in my energy level With decreased back pain. My teenage daughters are also enjoying the versitile workouts.
So glad I re-invested and am looking forward to regain my health. My Goal Is 30# OR More lifter By My 50th BIRTHDAY !!!

You watch the commercials and read the reviews and people make this sound like a miracle machine. Work out three times a week and in a month you could lose 10 pounds and 6 inches. If you are an overweight, out of shape, over 50 years old woman, I will just say this - Wishful thinking!! I have been exercising for three years with zero weight loss so I went into this with realistic expectations, although hopeful. After a month of working out 3-4 times/week, I have lost nothing in terms of weight or inches, but I have gained a little strength. I will keep going with it because it is something I can do at my level and while I am not getting the results someone in their 20's, 30's or even 40's will get, I will eventually see results - I hope.

I bought this a little less than a month ago and have not used since.. The assembly was too complicated and did not come with paper directions for ALL parts. The video helped a little but when trying to take the parts out of the box it went too fast. I thought the total gym would be lighter but I had to have my boyfriend helpe pull it out, set up, and take apart because it was too heavy for me to do it myself. I'm sure if I had the time to put everything together myself it would be great but I just don't have the time.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought the Total Gym after many years of wanting it. I am excited because of the range it has. The are so many different ways to work ALL the different muscles n your body. I doubt one could ever get bored with this machine. I am extremely happy with it.
