It was complicated to set up and it is too time consuming to be switching apparatuses between workouts.
Pros: Quiet, Comfortable, Sturdy
Cons: Hard To Use, Hard To Set Up

Better than I Expected

I bought the Total Gym for a vacation home as I wanted a sturdy versatile exercise machine that was portable enough to store under a bed. I have been pleasantly surprised at how well built it is and the number and variety of exercises you are able to do on it. At home I have worked out on a BowFlex machine for years and after getting the Total Gym I discovered muscle groups that I evidently had not been working out too effectively as after a week of workouts on the Total Gym I had many sore muscles that I haven't felt in years. I also get a much better cardio workout while doing the exercises on the Total Gym than I get on my Bowflex with is great for a vacation home as I can reduce the time I need to spend on cardio and spend more time vacationing. It does take up a little more floor space than I expected when it is fully set up but that isn't a big deal as it easily folds so I can put it in a corner between uses and also easily fits under a bed when I need to get it out of site. Now I am considering getting one for Home to use with my Bowflex to get a better variety of exercises than my Bowflex gives me alone.

My husband and I have been using this now for a couple of months. I am down 19 pounds and from a size 16-18 to some 8's but mostly 10-12. This is a great machine. and so easy on the joints. I am 40 years old and some days I really feel it but this is so easy to work out on and not high impact on the joints. do yourself a favor. BUY THIS. You will not regret it!!!!

I wish I would have had a camera on the first try! 50 plus pound over weight and on level 2 I sat there and laughed at my first attempt. I have been using my TG consistantly with great results and comfort. anyone can do this with a bit of patience and determination! I love it I only wish mine came with the ab bar that was offered with the TG the day after I purchaed mine:< I also want the bike attachment...one payment at a time!!!Thank-u total gym I am getting my health back

I use the total gym 3x per week. Having the gym at home provides me with the incentive to get off my butt and use it. I haves no excuses for not using it. No driving to the gym, bad weather, etc. I suppose it's not the best gym for muscle building but for improving flexibility and strength I think it works well.
