This is absolutely the best piece of exercise equipment a person can own. I bought my first one in 2007, and I just bought this one so my wife could have her own, and we can work out together. I love this machine!

I am a senior that has never looked forward to exercise, but I actually enjoy working out on my total gym! I feel like my joints have been oiled. It’s easy on my joints, and yet I am building muscle and energized. I don’t have to go to the gym so I can do it when it’s most convenient for me. I love it! I would recommend getting some help setting it up, though because it is heavy, and it takes up quite a bit of space. It is well made and I feel safe on it. I do wish the larger squat board were standard with this, though.

I really enjoy my Total Gym XLS. Easy to use, easy to set up, easy to put away. Quick exercise routines for my busy schedule.
The only safety thing I would change is that the height riser does not pin in place. It has a friction hold and can drop down if you are not careful moving the unit when putting it away for storage. It has already popped down on me twice now and is a good thing I was paying attention.
I am 6 feet 5 inches tall and I just fit on the board. Some of the arm extensions don't give me a full extension because my arms are pretty long so I am missing some of the range of motion for the exercise.
All in all I am satisfied and have been working out for 2 weeks now.
