Great concept for a laptop carrier!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recrived this Targus 16' Compact Rolling Backpack and I really am surprised at how well it is .sde. It has a lot of compartments for everyday items that I need when I attend night classes at my local community college. The wheels glide easily for me and I love the fact it doubles as a back pack.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Targus rolling laptop case

My employer will be asking our staff to transport our company-owned laptops to and from work in the future. I purchased this case as it is good-looking and very functional and generated good reviews. I used it for the first time very recently. Everything worked fine and I did notice some superficial scratches on the wheels and rollers after my first use of the case and smoothed them out with petroleum jelly. The wheels are functional; this is a cosmetic observation alone.
Lesson learned: the route to my office from public transportation has sidewalk surfaces that are rough and we have curb cuts that are also made of a textured plastic that may have scratched the wheels. Next time I use my Targus 16" Rolling Backpack I will stay on smooth surfaces in order to keep it nice-looking and functional.
This very minor observation aside, I do like the case and think it's a "keeper".
I would recommend this to a friend!

Handle stuck up

Handle stuck in the up position after 1 month of use. The place where the handle extends into the bag is very bulky. It doesn't hold as much as it seems like it should.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A great gift for dad!

I got this rolling backpack for my dad and he loves. He finds it very functional; he can either carry it or simply roll it if it's too heavy to carry. It fits his laptop and all his essentials. He already got a lot of compliments on the bag. Great job Targus on designing a bag that appealing and functional at the same time.

Great for work

I use this product at work to carry my laptop with me to offsite meetings and when working from home. The backpack is light and rolls easily. I like the cover for the wheels so it doesn't get your back or car dirty when not being rolled. There is plenty of storage for all the items I need to take with me for meetings.

My third Targus rolling backpack

I have loved my prior Targus bags, well designed and lots of places for stuff with easy access. I really liked that I could remove a laptop bag with handles from inside when I just needed to carry the laptop. While I like the design of the new bag (looks more sleek), it does not seem as easy to work with and holds less stuff. The internal pockets are confusing (velcro tab with nothing to connect to). I miss the small zip side pocket and the mesh water bottle holder is not deep enough. The pop-up handle for rolling the bag seems very durable and it is far quieter when rolling than my other 2 bags
