Avery isn't what it used to be

I bought 5871 to print double sided and there is a clear film on the back which ended up smudging and while I was breaking it apart it didn't break smoothly and the film tore from the card- just plain poor quality. Thinking I had the wrong one I tried 8871 and same thing happened! Do not advertise double sided if it's not and go back to quality. I gave 2 stars because the front side looked good.

We are sorry to hear that this happened. Generally, we do recommend selecting a thicker paper type option such as Cardstock or Heavyweight and a Best Quality setting. This may assist with printing. If you continue to run into this issue, please reach out to our Care Team at 800-462-8379 so we may take a closer look at this issue and try to make it right for you.

Top card (of 10) aligns perfectly, next row is slightly off, the bottom card is 1/16 inch off. My card stock is perfectly aligned and feeding thru my printer correctly. Since the design of my card has dark foliage on top and the bottom has light tan ground, only 2 of the 10 cards are useable. I do not want to have the same color top and bottom which seems like the only answer.

We are sorry to hear that you are having trouble printing your project. Please reach out to our Care Team through call or chat at avery.com/contact and we would be more than happy to troubleshoot this issue.
These cards have the same number as the older versions but the new versions cannot print on hp printers. They are too thick and gets jammed. The older cards with the same item number are a little thinner. Maybe you should take into account the fact that most printers cannot print on very thick cardstock.

We're sorry to hear that! These cards are still compatible with HP laser printers so it's worrying to hear that they are jamming. If you change the paper type setting in your printer to cardstock or a higher quality then it could solve this issue. But please give us a call at (800) GO AVERY and our team can help make this right.
Two-sided business cards aren't suppose to smudge...

Unfortunately, there is a thin film on the back side of the business cards that doesn't allow the ink to set in and dry properly, and as soon as you touch it, it smudges. That kinda' defeats the whole purpose of purchasing these cards. However, placing a common house fan in front of the sheet over a period of time, does seem to help it dry. Afterwards, I was able to touch the back side in a normal fashion and not have the ink smear all over. Just a suggestion, although something does need to be done about that. Shouldn't have to resort to such tactics.

We apologize but our Laser business cards will only be compatible with Laser printers. Ink from an Inkjet printer will not be able to print well to these sheets. However, we do have an Inkjet-compatible version available with product 8871. Apologies again for any confusion!
Simple and easy to use. Only thing I had a problem with was that I wasted a few sheets trying to print on the back side. It seems like the backside has a different finish to the front, this causes the ink to smudge on the backside. The front side however is great and doesn't smudge. It's great for one-sided print, but I bought these because I wanted two-sided print.
Pros: Durable, Good Value, Bright, Professional Weight, Doesn't Jam, Sharp Tones & Colors
Cons: Ink Issues On Back Side

We apologize but the ink may be smudging because product 5871 is only intended for Laser printers. If you are using this sheet with an Inkjet printer then the coating and material of the sheet will not work well with ink. However, we do have an Inkjet version available with product 8871. If you ever need a suggestion for an Inkjet or Laser version of a product you can also contact our consumer care team for more advice. You can get in touch with us by phone or chat by using the "Help" section above and clicking on the "Contact Us" link. Apologies again for any inconvenience!
PRO: You can quickly create limited-run business cards for specific events that happen infrequently. CON: When storing these business cards in my wallet, they can smudge against each other.
