This is hands down the best mouse there is for macOS. The build quality is astounding, the grip feels great, the buttons are silent, everything about it feels great.
The only downside of the mouse is the application, though. LogiOptions+ is objectively bad, and should be rebuilt by people who care about craft. Some features, such as the spotlight may break the up/down down key listeners, and you'll have to restart your machine to fix it.
It has a nice quality feel to the scroll wheel. It like that it is easy to quickly scroll. I like the side scroll wheel feature, though it doesn't function on half the places I try to use it. I thought the thumb button was a great idea when I bought it, but I hardly use it, which was a a surprise to me. I regret buying the white color. It looked silver in the photos, but it's just plain white. Some of my gripes with this mouse are that when I reach for it, it tends to slide out from under my hand, sending the pointer several inches up the screen. It is always scooting away from me, because of the 45-degree angle slope, which is annoying. Also, the mouse arrow doesn't have the same technology I'm used to with my trusty old Logitech trackball, where it accelerates to quickly move across large/multiple screens, then slows to be precise. This doesn't have that feature, so I have to set the mouse speed really slow to get the control I need, which makes it a chore to move the pointer to a distant screen.
The mouse is famous for a reason, all the features are amazing. My favorite thing about the mx4 is how comfortable it is over extended work sessions. The "click" is the best feeling. Its a beautiful mouse and the new materials stay clean for wayyyyy longer and are way easier to clean. I got the non-mac version to get the USB C dongle and it works flawlessly on my Mac Mini M4 with the logi+ app.
