Cute but should be spill proof!!

Super cute design and color, but it spills A LOT. I even bought a straw cover, and it did nothing; the top is terrible. Considering the price, you'd expect this to be spill-proof, but it's not, which is really frustrating.

I have had my Stanley cup for about 2/3ish weeks now and use it everyday, I've only had ice water in it. after washing it (typically washed 2 times a week), I have noticed rusting inside the cup already. After cleaning and scrubbing the cup numerous times I managed to get the rust spot out. Now the water has a very metallic taste and I'm extremely disappointed that I have spent so much money on this cup for it to not last a month.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
