I bought this watch about a month ago. It's a great watch with a fantastic battery life.

Compare it with how it was before!

I've owned both the Fenix and the Taxtic, and I like the Taxtic watch better. The flat face design looks more appealing. Improved performance and more seamless software. “The only concern is the sunlight bouncing off the glass, which can reveal my position.”

Great watch with lots of options!

I've had this watch for about 3 weeks and I'm still exploring the features/options available. Due to my work schedule, I'm unable to use or test all of the functions that I want to. Navigating the menu(s) has become a breeze and I thoroughly enjoy the apps that I've used, so far. Tracking my steps and heart rate for exercise, is what I appreciate most. The battery lasted from 100% to 40% a little over 2 weeks. This is with updates, adding apps, exploring features, replying to texts, etc. Pros: Can respond to phone text(when in range of phone), lots of available apps(free and paid/subscription), notifications from phone are instantaneous(email, text, phone calls, etc) Cons: Learning curve for using buttons(minor), Can't generate a text message, unless you and end user download the Garmin Messenger app(but can respond to text messages, if you do so promptly. I have found no way to access previously sent messages.

Enjoying the watch so far

The menu system and scooting around the watch is a bit clunky. If you use all the sensors for health, the battery life goes to about 66% the max listed on the website. Solar is neat but I wish it could really resupply the battery as you move through the month.

Love this watch. Came from a Fenix 8 and the bigger battery and added features are so nice!

Great watch but not two wrist bands.

I would have given the watch 5 stars because the watch itself is amazing. But they only give you rubber band and not the thich nylon one too. With the tactix 7 they gave you both. C'mon haha

I’ll be honest—I wasn’t sure about going with the 51mm over the 47mm at first. But after wearing the Garmin Tactix 8, I don’t think I could ever go back. The larger size actually feels right, and now the smaller versions would feel like a downgrade.
The battery life alone is incredible. It’s one of those things you don’t fully appreciate until you experience not having to constantly think about charging your watch.
I’ve also become a huge fan of the MIP display. I tried AMOLED before, and while it looks great, I much prefer the always-on visibility and efficiency of MIP. It just works—especially outdoors—and pairs perfectly with the battery performance.
Aesthetically, this watch is exactly what I was looking for. Even though I don’t use all the military features, the overall design is what sets it apart. The flat bezel gives it a more classic, rugged look that I actually prefer over the Garmin Fenix 8 line.
Overall, this feels like a true “tool watch”—durable, reliable, and built with purpose. I’m extremely happy with it.
