The Garmin Tactix 8 AMOLED is an outstanding smartwatch that combines premium craftsmanship with impressive technology. The AMOLED display is sharp, bright, and easy to read, while the GPS navigation, detailed mapping, and excellent battery life, which is far beyond my Apple Watch. The Garmin Tactix 8 has extensive outdoor features make this watch truly exceptional. I especially appreciate its ability to provide reliable GPS navigation without requiring a mobile phone connection. The rugged construction and sophisticated design make it suitable for both everyday use and outdoor adventures. Although it's an expensive watch, the quality and capabilities make it a worthwhile investment. I'm extremely pleased with my purchase and highly recommend it!
Love this thing! The newer updates are awesome and especially the GPS tracking and heart rate monitoring seems to be better than my Epix Pro Gen 2.
A little bummed it comes with only the silicone band and not the nylon like previous models had. And the only reason for a 4 out of 5. At this price point, should have both.
Amazing watch alittle bit on the expensive side of things though. I cant wait to see what the next version will have as there is still plenty room for them to add some features.
Like a lot of people I've gone back and forth when it comes to smart watches. I've worn Apple and Garmin and been happy with both. I've worn Garmin since the early days when they were training devices but not a daily wearable device and still gravitate back toward Garmin. I had the MIP displays for battery life and so I could control the lighting (or lack of) in a tactical environment. Since I'm getting older and that isn't as issue now, I wanted to try the AMOLED display. The display on this watch is beautiful! I love the clarity, brightness and color. That combined with the major battery improvement over the AWU3 makes this my daily driver now. I also like that this is a sports watch first, and a smart watch second. I also love that the Tactix combines the aviation segment of their watch market along with the huge amount of other sports found in the high-end products. Garmin's health features are part of a robust and connected system and one I've been happy with for quite a while. I find myself in the mindset to be more active when wearing my Garmin. The trail routing, designed workouts in multiple disciplines, and being able to make courses in Connect or INTVL makes this the clear choice for me. And I thought that the flashlight on the watch was a bit of a gimmick, and now I find myself using it numerous times a day. Happy to be back wearing Garmin every day, the Tactix is an amazing watch. The addition of being able to use Siri, while simple, is a game changer for me. My most used feature before was probably the ability to use Siri for many simple things, now I can use Siri through Garmin and it's a perfect addition.
I bought it about a month ago and I still enjoy playing with the features on it for the most part it’s very accurate with health but I will say the steps seem off is the online thing I’ve noticed not accurate and I wish wish the seconds on the clock stayed on
