Every few years in the spring it's time to install a new igniter. Weber makes it easy to do. There are problem-solving guidelines, how to order new parts and easy-to-follow instructions on installing the new igniter. Just takes a few minutes and we are good to go...
It's really nice having the new igniter kit. The original one took a dump after about 2 years, and at that time you could not order it online which seemed to be more of an ordeal than it was worth. Grabbing my Bic fireplace lighter seemed simple enough.
I installed the igniter module per the instructions. I held it a an angle and thought one side was in place. As I tried to snap the other side in place the clip broke off. It works but is loose due to the broken clip. Very frustrating.
I’m a 66 year old woman and after watching a YouTube video on how to replace my grill’s igniter I had it done in less than 15 min. The instructions that came with the new igniter were confusing so thank god for people who take the time to make “how to” video’s!
Our igniter lasted 10 years and the BBQ being a Weber is built to last a lot longer and is in pristine shape. It took me 5 minutes to replace the igniter (some varmit had nibbled on the wires) and it works like new - many more meals coming off the Weber!
