I love my Meta Quest 3!

First of all, it’s awesome. I’m really blown away by the whole experience overall. There were four aspects of which I was particularly concerned: comfort, battery life, game quality, and interacting with with others in a VR environment.
Comfort - The unit is pretty comfortable. It’s well-balanced and I don’t feel a huge weight on my head or neck. For now, I can wear the unit for about 90 minutes before I need a break. The padded fabric around the eyes is soft and doesn’t put a lot of pressure on my face. But I just ordered the "Silicone Facial Interface” because after a strenuous game of Beat Saber, the fabric can get a bit sweaty, which is kind of gross. The cameras on the front of the unit are high quality, and they produce a natural-feeling display of my real world environment. So I’m easily able to walk around my apartment without removing the headset. My wife gets a bit disturbed when I talk to her with the headset on. I can see her just fine, but it must be weird for her to talk to me when half of my face is obscured. I have experienced a bit of motion sickness moving around my office and apartment, but I’m getting used to that and I think I’ll eventually get over it completely. I’m very pleased with the comfortability when wearing this headset.
Battery Life - The built-in battery isn’t great. It lasts about an hour, in my limited experience, before needing a recharge. (I only used the built-in battery for a couple of days, so I don’t have a ton of research to support that finding.) I also purchased the Elite Strap with extended battery, which arrived a couple days after the headset. I highly recommend this. Not only does the battery last much longer, three hours +, but also the Elite strap is even more comfortable than the original one. Additionally, I think the extra battery in the back makes the whole unit feel even more balanced.
Game quality - I’m not a huge gamer, and I haven’t owned a console since the Super Nintendo, but I think the quality of the gaming experience is exceptional with this headset. The graphics, and especially the sound, are very realistic. It’s quite easy to get lost in the virtual world. I’ve only downloaded a few games, Beat Saber, a shooting game called Onward, and a SimCity kind of game. The shooting game is taking me a while to get comfortable with the controls. I keep dropping my ammo clips and then having to stoop down to pick them up. It’s amazing to me that if I crouch in my real world environment, my character also crouches. This is helpful when I need to hide behind objects to avoid being shot. I can even lie down on the floor and the perspective in the headset matches my point of view perfectly. I also downloaded Netflix and YouTube, but I haven’t spent much time watching videos through those apps. When I do, it truly feels like I have a 20-foot screen in my living room. I had previously heard about this, but I was skeptical. I was expecting to lose some picture quality, and did not think it would feel realistic. But I was dead wrong. The screen in my headset has the same definition as a movie theater, and the sound is great. The only issue with this kind of viewing is that you need to be in a well-lit room in order for the headset to pick up the movements of the controllers, and for you to be able to interact. So it’s not really conducive to late night watching in bed with the lights off.
Interacting with others in VR - Joining public rooms and interacting with others is quite a trip. It adds a bit of a social aspect to my life. I've met a few very helpful people who have answered my questions about navigating the headset and the controls. One issue, which I hope they fix soon, is that none of the other people in the VR space can see my avatar's lips move when I speak. When people who are using the Quest Pro headset (I have the Quest 3) speak, I can see their lips move. Their eyebrows raise and lower, and most facial expressions, including when they puff out their cheeks and bite their lip come through very realistically. This is because the Quest Pro is constantly scanning their face as they use it. The Quest 3 doesn’t face scan, but I feel an AI component should be able to guess how my avatar's mouth should move depending on the sounds of the words I say. Fingers crossed that this will be added in a not too distant update.
Thanks for reading this. I'm very happy with this purchase, and I'm looking forward to exploring it further!

Graphics and passthrough quality are over hyped

I do like the feel and the weight distribution a little more than the quest 2. But the graphics aren't improved upon as much as I had hoped, and the passthrough quality is nowhere near as good as they make it sound. I'm seeing videos online of people using it in much worse lighting conditions than me with seemingly better results. Other than the larger storage option there's not a lot to justify the upgrade to the quest 3. Hopefully they take advantage of the other new features soon by making larger quest 3 exclusive games.

Gym Substitute

The Meta Quest 3 has become my new gym substitute. I put in around thirty minutes, five day a week. Box Vr from Stream. And Les Mills Bodycombat for Meta Store give me all that I need to get my no weight workout on. I sweat so much I've had to order the Meta Quest 3 Silicone Facial interface, which do make a difference. Plus I did added the Meta Quest Link Cable as a back up, in closing all is great. Thanks.

A good visual upgrade

The new screen is very high res. Looks great. Only issue is battery life, and that’s a big issue. Using a battery pack of some kind solves this for the most part, so I accept this as the state of the tech. I’d rather have a higher res screen with battery issues than no upgrade at all.
Using the default headstrap is pretty much the same as the quest 2. I prefer it as it’s comfortable to rest your head against something, in contrast to the elite headstrap or whatever it’s called. With some adjusting it is possible to be quite comfortable for hours wearing the unit.
Passthrough mode now in color, though it’s still far from reality. It’s possible to walk around with no hud and not trip on anything. Not really a major change overall.
Aside from this there is not much to say. It’s pretty much the same as the quest 2 in all other ways.

A definite upgrade on the Quest 2, which I love. The headset is comfortable. The lenses, field of view, overall graphics experience is superb. After being a bit disappointed by the Pro, extremely pleased with the 3. The AR experience is a large leap forward in my view.

Better than my g2

The picture is super clear. The head strap isn't terrible but I am upgrading. With a big external battery bank (20,000 mah) I got 3 hours and it was still sitting at 98%. I have been playing all the games I didn't play on my reverb g2 because of the wire. I love the freedom of wireless.

Disappointing

For the price this cost, I was very disappointed. Graphics aren't much better than previous versions. For the price I could have bought an XBOX or a Sony PS.
