As a chronic pain sufferer, I love my Quest, it distracts me from the pain and even on days when I can't move much I can travel, I can meditate, play sitting games and more. It also helps a lot with depression and anxiety

*note, I'd give it a 4.5 but since half stars aren't possible, I'll give it 5* So, I noticed right away it felt better to wear than my quest 2, and was significantly easier to adjust it where I can actually read text. And the visual quality improved
((though I won't say it's the best quality compared to other, sometimes cheaper VR headsets **in some aspects**, sorry))
But the quest 3 is extremely nice, and reignited my intest of VR and makes me even more hopeful for what's to come in the future
However, there are also the drawbacks. At this time (December 1st, 2023) I don't think it's worth buying over a Quest 2, however I do expect it to change in time. And while it is more comfortable compared to the 2 overall, the head strap of the 3 rubs my ears a lot more than the 2 ever did. And again, the quality isn't anything spectacular compared to other headsets that are close to the same price, or in some cases, slightly cheaper. And this is possibly more noticeable in "dark" environments, where it is "highlighted" (( likely due to it not using OLED)) it also didn't improve on black text over white. (It results with the white being too bright and the black blurry instead of being legible **when regarding smaller print, which is noticeable in games like help wanted with the prizes you can get** and slightly ruins the immersion.
And, while yes I realize one of the stated reasons was to make it so it stayed within a price bracket, it would be nice if it used eye tracking.
And again, while the last part of my review is me complaining about lacking in some fields, I think it's an extremely good headset overall.

My purpose for buying the Quest 3 was to replace aging Rift S that I use for iRacing and MS Flight Simulator. I didn't have an easy time getting the PC Cord Link to work. No luck at all with using WiFi. Anyway I finally did get it working but it was very finicky. I tried several cables, including the original Quest cable I purchased. The one thing I hated was how fast the battery life would go down. I experienced the headset shutting off during a race, which never happened with the Rift S. Then I find out the headset doesn't charge while plugged into a PC but needs the special high amperage charger that comes with the Quest 3. So you're stuck with limited use time. But I found a new third party cord that splits of the charging line through a USBc plug which can be plugged into the High Amp Charger while the USB3 Plug transmits the Data stream from the PC. The Quest 3 doesn't charge as fast this way but it must charge some because the use time increases. Also, this eliminates the need to keep swapping out cables on the Headset. As we all know the more you plug and unplug a USB connection the more likely it is to wear out. This cable is a must have and Meta Should have offered this type of cable with the Quest 2 and 3. FYI, I have purchased 3 of the Quest 3 systems for the house and of course 3 of those cables. The Pass though feature on the Quest 3 is the greatest. Many times in iRacing or MSFS 2020 you need to hit a keyboard stroke and having the ability to tap on the side of the goggles to go passthrough is Awesome. Bravo to the team for this option.

Great headset. A definite step up from the Quest 2. Worth the upgrade if you can trade in or pass on the old headset. A bit steep otherwise. For a 1st headset, 100% recommend. Is fun, simple, and there are a ton of apps and games to try.
The passthrough is great.
The new controller style is less bulky than the previous ones (but the quest 2 controllers were very usable already).

I have been a long time quest owner, with the Quest 1, 2 and now finally the 3. The color passthrough is very nice to have, I almost never use the "Virtual" environment now, since I can see everything around me. Generally I enjoy the product and find time to play a game when possible, but for media consumption while doing chores around the house, it's fine.

I enjoy the Meta Quest 3 but the passthrough is extremely grainy, even in bright light.

Great pass-through resolution and mixed reality!

I loved the Quest 2 but love the Quest 3 way more! With the Quest 2, I would have to take the headset off to see my phone. With the Quest 3, I can see my phone fine via pass-through! And the mixed reality is wicked cool - a spaceship broke through my living room ceiling, scattering rubble on my floor, and little aliens started hiding behind my furniture!
