Is it possible to have a depth sensor per eye in the future? The way it merges the 3d model and then reconstructs it per eye from the one depth sensor feels not good some times, it just all over the place. I assume it is because there is one depth sensor?

I hate the drag on my face! The adjustable strap is very hard to manage. And the one on the top is not adjustable enough to fit my small head:( ! You will need to purchase a comfortable head strap such as the elite strap. The game play is fantastic! Except for a few glitches where I have had to reboot because of it freezing and being unable to close an app or shut down the headset. But I would recommend you get one of the BEST headsets ever! I love it! Except for a few problems this is a must have!

Decent headset, very approachable price, and overall it's "fine."
The game library is severely lacking, connecting to a PC for PC VR is EXTREMELY cumbersome, complicated, and the interface UX is not intuitive.
Hoping more useful AR/VR experiences come along for me to be able to play and interact with my friends/co-workers.

Great Headset, hindered by some software issues

I am really enjoying my Q3 and seem to be playing it a lot more than I did the Q2. Yes it has increased resolution, no you don't always see it. Not a lot of apps/games taking advantage of the capabilities, and appears a lot of developers are not going to update older games to make them better. Not even the "home" environments use the updated resolution available, unless they're all supposed to look low-resolution on purpose.
Most apps/games do not have save slots, as if they expect only 1 person to want to play on a very expensive device. To get around this you can add another profile/login to the device. Doing so is plagued with outdated instructions, links to pages that don't exist, and FAQ pages that aren't helpful or easy to navigate.
Initial setup got stuck on pairing the device with a mobile app. After numerous attempts I was finally able to get it to pair after 30 or so minutes. Setting up a 2nd profile, instructions said the 2nd person also needed to pair the headset with their own mobile device, which the headset wouldn't allow since it's already paired with mine. You can share games with other profiles on the headset, but you can only do this on one headset. I cannot also share games with my kids/wife on my Q2 as well. I guess Meta is not ready for families to have more than one device at a time? Also, after adding a 2nd profile we had to re-download all the games that were already on the device. I need to dig into the storage to see if it really is taking up twice the space for every game. These are some of the software issues hindering the enjoyment, and ultimately hindering people buying additional units or more apps from the stores.

A great upgrade for mixed reality.

The Quest 3 is a great Virtual Reality headset, and I would recommend it for anyone that is looking for a VR headset without the expense of a computer. The VR is clear, and the colors really stand out well. The AR/MR options in some games is great. I hope more developers continue to add AR/MR options to more games. The AR/MR looks great on Quest 3.

Best device and value today

As 2023 draws to a close, it’s easy to think you need to review every spec of every device. Many PC VR solutions are more expensive and must be better, right?
To make this review as simple as possible, here is why the Quest 3 is the best choice:
High resolution - No more screen door effect. Wider field of view - helps make it feel more immersive. Wireless - best experience. Controllers - no clunky rings on top. USB cable to attach it to a PC to work for PC VR is the ultimate in flexibility. Priced right too!
Only mild cons are it’s a little front heavy as most VR is. The strap that comes with it is functional and small, but I may upgrade to a larger but more comfortable strap for extended uses. The controller straps come with a loop, but would be far better if they came with the upgraded straps they sell. Using the upgraded straps puts these controllers at the top like the Valve Index.
If you are looking to buy in late 2023/early 2024. The Quest 3 is easily the best choice.

Love, except for one thing…

I’m in love with almost everything about the Quest 3. The one issue is controller lags/lapses/glitches on some of the more active, fast-moving apps. Every once in a while, the tracking is off.
