The color pass through is great. It's much easier to setup boundaries. The graphics look much better, and it's much snappier. Definitely more comfortable when using the battery strap.

boots fast

This boots so much faster than my Q1 obviously. It's a good upgrade and all, but I wish there was more MR. Headstrap is OK, but i will be upgrading at some point. Hate the side straps over my ears. Q1 was much more comfy even with the stock strap.

a worthwhile upgrade from the Quest 2

If you weren't a fan of Quest 2, Quest 3 isn't going to win you over. If you were, Quest 3 is definitely an improvement. I'm happy with the upgrade. If the Quest 4 comes in a few years with similar incremental improvements, I'd probably go for it. If it comes next year, I wouldn't without a significant trade-in discount.

Not bad but has issues

The resolution is far superior to my quest 2 however I’ve had WiFi connectivity issue which causes games to crash, primarily population one, which never happened on my quest 2. Pretty shocking when I’m four feet away from my router. I hope this will be resolved with a future update, unless the Q3 I purchased is defective, which I doubt is the case. Nothing more annoying than loosing connectivity mid game. My other complaint is with the battery covers on the controllers which don’t seem very secure, which is likely due to the newly added battery cover release button. Feels like the covers are about to pop open during game play. Much preferred the old design of the quest 2 covers, which were way more secure.

I love love love this machine. I mostly just use my oculus two for working out. But I find that since the graphics are so amazing and the sound, I have expanded my library and have even gone into Meadow world and met new people. I love the fact that it’s not as heavy as the oculus too. Also the sound quality is far superior as well as the ability to have mixed reality. This is the gold standard of virtual reality. The only feedback that I would like to see improved is the fact that it does not work well with Bluetooth earbuds.

Investing in the Hardware, the Software will come

Pancake lenses and useable passthrough make this a very capable headset. The sweet spot is just absolutely massive compared to quest 2 and even my Index. Still find the base Quest store on the "It wants to be Steam when it grows up... isn't it cute" side. But quest link or virtual desktop both link this to my PC. The resolution is "good enough" that it isn't an eyesore (literally) like the quest 2 was when trying to read your screens. But you can still see pixels at times... but it is a much more muted and often not noticeable at all. God rays are almost gone as well.
Comfort of the out the box configuration is an improvement over the out of the box for Quest 2&1... but that isn't saying much as they were pretty much the worst out there. Gave it a 3 for barely being "adequate". With the elite battery strap I rate it pretty closely with my Index with HTC premium audio strap.
Setup if you are using it standalone is a 5 star experience. I knocked it down to 3 stars because the wireless link to the PC is finicky as hell for linking up the PC and the Headset, and I am using a dedicated router for it. Would give it 3.5 if they allowed half stars.
Overall the increased resolution and sweet spot, and linked up with Pro controllers is making me want to take down my light houses. The finicky setup is all that is holding me back.

Definitely improved resolution vs Quest 2, making for a more realistic immersive experience. But that increase is more noticeable in work environments and certain games (i.e. Golf+, Football, Tennis, etc) , and not so noticeable within the productivity apps themselves (i.e. Immersive, Virtual Desktop). Makes it easier to stay in VR longer.
Access to apps is SUPPOSED to follow your login, so apps purchased for Quest 2 are available in Quest 3, but I have not found that to be the case. It's a hassle. So much so, I found it easier to just buy the apps I really need all over again. That's a frustration I hope gets fixed quick.
Allowing Passthrough Space in VR apps is better in Quest 3, but more needs to be done to allow seamless access to keyboard and mouse and controllers while in VR.
That said, THIS is the office of the future! What a wonderful place to work! Not only do you feel like Tony Stark throwing screens around in front of yourself, or tossing aside rejected models or sketches with the flick of a wrist in Gravity Sketch or VR Sketch; the chance to work fireside in a remote ski lodge, or the beach, or a space station never gets old. Not to mention clearing your mind with a short break from multiple desktop screens to take a stroll (or a bike ride! Or a flight!) down a street in Paris, or Utah, or Hong Kong or New York.
The Quest offers a world opening option for each of us, confined only by our willingness to search and imagine. With this, any of us can go places we would never otherwise be able to afford to go, experience cultures and countries and people we would never otherwise be able to reach. It's an experience that expands one's world! An experience not to be missed!
