Good but not great

The default strap and facial interface makes it unusable for me due to the pain. The elite strap helps take the pressure off the face. The screen mura is really bad. It makes the screens appear dirty. The glare in high contrast scenes is really, really bad. The dimming of the image on the edges is distracting. The battery life is bad. Cheaping out with 8GB RAM was cowardly by meta. The Quest 2 has 6GB and it isn't close to enough. Adding 2 more just doesn't cut it. Removing the tracking rings on the controls is nice but tracking suffers in some noticeable cases.
The image clarity is good. The bump in processing performance is good. The charging dock is overpriced but still a nice accessory. Fingers crossed that Quest 4 fixes the above issues.

Quest 3 - a big step up but room to improve

The upgrades/improvements over Quest 2 are immediately apparant, especially the improved physical comfort of wearing the device itself. It's much lighter than its predecessor and the Quest 3 lenses + silicone facial cover are much improved. Additionally, as someone who wears glasses, the Quest 3 is MUCH more accommodating and with much less hassle. The updated performance is great and a noticeable upgrade. However, the battery life + charge time has not improved at all, best I can tell.

A Big Step Up

I came to the Quest 3 from the Quest 2 and it is remarkable the things it can do. The mixed reality is a game-changer. The headset is much more comfortable, the controllers are sleaker (though they tend to lose tracking randomly sometimes), and passthrough lets you use it in completely new way.

LOVE IT, but definitely released fixable bugs

Overall, I loe the headset, but it definitely had a few bugs the day I received it that were quite annoying. #1 - The tracking had issues, especially for Pro Gamers of fast movement games like Population One & others. #2 - The new cloth material is uncomfortable. I purchased an aftermarket silicone cover, but I feel it should have come with one. #3 - The auto detection of the play space isn't perfect. I found i still had to do manual adjustments. I'm not sure this new way of setting up play space actually made the setup faster.

Worth the upgrade

The better picture quality, faster reaction time and ease of use ( example: wearing glasses was a several step process with the Quest2 but I can just slip the Quest3 right over my glasses with ease) make this the VR experience I wished for all along. I had grown kind of bored with VR but this brings it back to life.

The new quest 3 has been a great addition with so many new things to try. I love the games and other features. The only thing I'm disappointed with is the battery life and that widgets are available yet. I understood VR widgets for my house would be ready with the quest 3 and now understand it will happen some time next year.

am really enjoying the new Meta Quest 3! I previously had a Valve Index but the controller went kaput! and i like that with the Quest 3 controllers, you can switch out the batteries when they run out of juice! the headset fits nicely and glad i am no longer tethered to the pc as i was with my previous set up! Plus the vr visuals are just out of this world! i dont need any motion sickness meds to reacclimate myself again! definitely recommend to others!
