Constant random black screens
on November 22, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wanted to love this monitor. The picture quality is great when it's working right. The issue is that the monitor will randomly black screen/flicker over DisplayPort. If you run at 160hz, the problem happens even more often. These monitors are defective and LG is refusing to acknowledge/address the issue.
Pros: Style/Design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Back light bleed like talked about

I was ify about this monitor at first, 4K check 120hz check, hdr 600 check , all shaping up to sound good especially for the next generation of consoles but when playing with this monitor the dark scenes or almost dark games like the last of us 2 where your in a dark place and only have your flashlight or the middle of the screen the back light bleed takes over. It’s impossible to play it looks awful I know it’s not an oled but I’ve seen $200 ips panels built better and one for almost a grand kinda pathetic
Pros: Performance
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

HDR Issues with Xbox Series X
on May 17, 2021

Just received the monitor today, it was very easy to install the stand. The settings interface is very easy to use with a knob (you can click, push left/right/up/down). Next to the knob is a wheel you can turn to adjust the brightness of the RGB lighting in the back, and you can click it to select RGB patterns.
The image is smooth and crisp, utilizing 4K/120Hz on the Xbox Series X.
A major issue I have ran into (and seems to be pretty common after doing some research) is that the monitor and the Xbox's HDR settings dont play well togther.
I havent tested it with all games, however, when playing Destin 2 and having HDR enabled, toggling between the game and Xbox dashboard (just an example) causes the screen to blackout for a couple seconds do to the switch between SDR and HDR (this is commonly known as the "Handshake Problem").
I have tried playing with various settings, but it seems the only way Ill be able to enjoy this monitor/game is by turning the Xbox HDR off.
Pros: Style/Design, ease of use, Performance, Quality
I would recommend this to a friend!

Disappointed by this monitor.

I bought this about 2 weeks ago and not happy with the blacklight bleed and IPS glow. It can be distracting at times when there are cutscenes with black bars like games like Ghost of Tsushima. The HDR is really terrible for the Xbox Series X and PS5. I think I might have a bad unit.
Pros: Performance
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

HDMI 2.1 is Here!
on May 16, 2021

Been waiting for these HDMI 2.1 capable monitors. Very happy it arrived via FedEx today. Connected to my 3080 using the included hdmi cable, boom 4K 120Hz, had to change to work does setting to 120Hz, but worked like a champ afterwards. I also enabled HDR in windows settings I hadn’t had a HDR capable monitor before. CoD and other HDR games all now allowed me to enable HDR. The look of 4K at 120Hz is buttery smooth. The 3080 keeps the frames up at that resolution and the monitor delivers. I cannot hear the monitor fan or even notice it for those wondering about how it compares to the last version. The RGB lights are there in the back for those who like that. Monitor puts out some heat, more than my previous monitor. Only a few hours in but so far, loving it.
Pros: Style/Design, ease of use, Performance

Worth the wait!

I specifically got this to take full advantage of my Xbox Series X. The 120hz refresh rate combined with 4K resolution is absolutely stunning. I know the PC players don't really care about HDMI 2.1 but for those of us who have next gen consoles, this is fantastic. Colors are amazing, HDR pops even though it's only HDR 600. Tons of customizations for you to dial it all in. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase. I waited for what seems like forever, and was lucky enough to catch the first wave!
Pros: ease of use, Features/Settings, Performance

Excellent Monitor !!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Absolutely in Love with this Monitor, this monitor is excellent and best of all is next gen ready.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this monitor and have had nothing but problems from day one. it randomly turns off while gaming. the "HDR" is only 8 zones so you can see it light up when the cursor is on a black screen. Sometimes when I turn it on there is a line of dead pixels that runs down the center of it that only goes away if I restart it. The overclock does not work at all. I think that is all the problems but at this point I wouldn't be shocked if I forgot some of them.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
