Major defect - avoid if using in bright room

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This monitor is excellent except for one major defect.
The good: it has very accurate color, calibrates well, gets bright, has good USB C support, solid uniformity, works equally well with PC and Mac, has great controls.
The defect: LG packages it from the factory without sufficient screen protection - this leads to a defective screen right out of the box. The monitor comes wrapped in a thin patterned Styrofoam bag and placed face down at the bottom of its packaging box with the weight of everything else, including the monitor arm, placed directly on top of the back of the monitor. The pressure this creates between the screen rubbing directly against the bag leaves permanent physical imprints etched into the antiglare coating that are visible when using the monitor in a sunny room or under direct or reflected light. This has been verified with 4 brand new monitors.
You should be able to check for the issue yourself in a bright room under direct sunlight or by shining a light at the screen. If you don't use the monitor under bright conditions, you probably won't notice this, and this monitor would be a fine choice. If you do intend to use it in a bright room, I don't recommend this monitor.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Stand, big issue with USB-C

Be warned that while USB-C cable connected, if you reboot the computer, the USB-C port of the monitor is going to stop working, no power delivery, no video. It is a known issue I learned the hardway. To address this, either never reboot the computer with USB cable connected or you cycle the power of the monitor after computer reboot (as monitor would stop working)

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought 2 32UN880-B monitors 2 weeks ago. One works well but the other one started showing parallel lines on the display after 2 days of using. I'm going to return the malfunctioned one.

Died after 18 months

I bought this exact monitor in October 2021. It seemed like a great monitor, zero issues. This morning, July 13 2023 the monitor suddenly goes pink in the middle of a session, followed by white vertical lines cutting across the screen. Now it's completely useless. The monitor just shows a few white vertical lines and fades. I've tried different devices and it's definitely the monitor that is defective

Screen burnt in 3 months

Started seeing issues right away. USB-C won’t work but I thought it’s my laptop. Eventually the screen got burnt. LG washed their hands off even though the product was registered with them.
Don’t buy this garbage and definitely don’t buy LG.

More Stuck Pixels

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I only buy LG and have had great success but this monitor within the first month had 50 stuck pixels (green, red and blue). I was going to do RMA but they required me to send the monitor for inspection before sending a replacement. It was my only monitor at the time and couldn’t go without. I lived with it but now almost 2 years later I have countless 300+ stuck pixels wand is not in heavy use. Never had an issue with any brand to this extent for this price I find this unacceptable.

Find another, better option

We've purchased several of these monitors. The swinging arm is heavy and my least favorite monitor stand. Also, the 32UN880 consistently has a bad Usb-C port. Just not great for an expensive item.
