While looking for the two monitors I ran across ultra wide displays such as this one. Ultimately, I decided on the LG 29 inch for a number of reasons. The price was very reasonable and its size fits my desk better than the larger ones. The LG software available online allows you to configure the monitor to use most any way you'd like. You can set it up as a dual display that behaves just like two displays on a Windows system or set it as many displays on the same screen. I like it in the default full screen mode. I can drag a file all the way to the right and it automatically expands to the right half of the screen. Then drag one all the way to the left to fill the left side of the screen. Dragging windows to the corner will fill 1/4 of the screen. It was very easy to set up, physically, and to configure for each of my computers. I couldn't be happier with the beautifully bright, crisp image on this monitor. The colors are perfect and the text is crisp much more readable then on my previous monitor. Everyone that sees it is amazed and immediately sold. Are use it for work and, since it has two HDMI inputs, I also switch it to my home laptop for personal use.

The matte finish, the sleek and thin design are all great perks that I was looking for when shopping for a monitor. The quirks that I mentioned above were things that I will learn to adjust to: 1. The only button on the monitor is a single button that can pivot in four directions, and is not the best when you want to turn it off, or adjust the brightness - it's just a unique button system that I've never experienced before and will learn to adjust. 2. The limited access ports on the back of two HDMIs and no USBs does limit you a bit, but is not something to necessarily knock it.
Other things I really liked about the monitor: -The stand was nice, but I went with a monitor arm now, but enjoyed using it when I did use it. -The picture quality is nice once you find the right setting (ie. I use the "Vivid" setting for a better resolution). -I like that it didn't include speakers, I think that helped cut down on the price. I use my own external speakers that are higher quality -- so that was something I looked for, and I assume many others will be to.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased my new LG 29" monitor 3 weeks ago as an upgrade for a prior monitor I had purchased over 8 years ago. I was extremely pleased, but was most pleasantly surprised by two features. First was the way the colors came alive. They really stood out and made me see things I had never noticed before, especially in the digital photos I had taken many years ago. The skies were more blue and the green plants & trees were more green. Secondly, the wide-screen really impressed me such that I will never go back to a conventional sized screen again. The wide screen format makes you feel as though you are seeing the same old web pages and photos for the first time. I highly recommend this monitor as a real value. Given the choice, I would not hesitate to buy it again.
