desperately needs MA for this camera

As i have a couple of old lenses with some focusing issues, micro adjustment on this camera will be of great use. Please consider to upgrade the 60D's firmware.

Best Upgrade from Rebel - Im Glad didnt buy 7D

I owned a canon t2i for about 4 months and shot video mostly. i loved the image and video quality on the 18mp sensor but the size was too light and small for me.
I absolutely love the 60D the size and weight is perfect. FOr me its way better than 7D and it doesn't feel plasticky at all. The improved ISO range from T2i is also very good i really missed it in the T2i and the new layout of the buttons is amazing too.
The swivel screen and manual audio gain control definitely make it the best for video work. Great camera and a really high quality Kit lens too.
Im Glad i didn't spend more money for 7d.

Super Rebel?

Let’s be clear, this camera is not a straight line upgrade from the 50D so if that’s what you are expecting you may be surprised or disappointed. Canon is clearly repositioning the xxD line. The xxD line has always been in a bit of an odd space. Not an entry level DSLR, where Canon has the XS and T2i, which really isn’t entry level any more, but not quite a pro camera, so what is it really? The 60D lacks some of the features needed to be considered a real Semi-Pro or “ProSumer” camera, whatever that is; however there are plenty of people doing pro work with Rebels, in theory a less capable camera series. It’s ultimately about the pictures and here the 60D can shine with the best of them. IQ is terrific, on par with the more expensive 7D and little brother T2i due to the same 18mp sensor and Digic 4, high ISO performance while not revolutionary is very good, FPS at 5.3 is quick and good enough for most sports action and more.
For a serious Enthusiast who wants a lot of features, better build and better performance (FPS, better metering, better battery life, etc.) than a Rebel this maybe the camera. Focusing is quick and accurate, the camera handles well in use, and controls are well positioned and easy to understand if you’ve had any other Canon. This is clearly an upgrade over the T2i, a very capable camera in its own right. In fact unless you’re doing really demanding Pro work you probably don’t need more than this, really. If you don’t need 9FPS and lens micro adjustment, metal body and the higher price tag of the 7D but want more than the Rebels look at the 60D. The articulating screen alone may make this purchase worthwhile; meanwhile you have a top notch Enthusiast camera capable of pro level results.
Pros: very good iso performance, improved metering, rich feature set, lively performance, excellent iq, mode lock button, excellent articulating screen, good value over a t2i, excellent battery life
Cons: missing a few pro features from previous xxd line, not as quick as previos 50d and 40d at 5.3 fps, a repositioned camera line, sd cards not as fast as many cf cards

I spent a lot of time researching DSLR"s before replacing my unamed brand of DSLR. I decided to switch to Canon and purchase the 60D. This camera outperforms my older more expensive DSLR that im giving to my daughter.
The auto white balance is amazingly accurate,whites are white in Flourescent lighting,skin tones are good too.
I love the lcd screen its easy to see in daylight and the swivelly/swirlly LCD makes it easy to take photos at difficult angles. Im a paraplegic in a wheelchair and this lcd screen greatly increases my ability to take photos up high or down low, i love it. The 60D has a solid well built feel but its light enough to carry around for long periods. Great job Canon!

Seriously the Canon EOS 60d is awesome and amazing, upograding from 50D, i was tying to get the 7D but i tried the 60d and the 7D, i see there is no difference, just the 7d is little bit bigger and pricey, but there is no difference, the most things i like in this 60d is articulating LCD, you can't see on any canon DSLR camera and has a good battery life LP-E6 is terrific, 5D mark !! and 7D use LP-E6 too!
Seriously the canon EOS 60D is an gorgeous and amazing digital SLR camera, even if i stay at home i play with it like a kid!

Having a really good time!

As a result of participation in a camera club, I decided to up grade my digital camera. I bought a Canon 60D camera and it is living up to all my expectations. I can now go head to head with all the other members when we have a competition or go on a photo shoot.
Pros: good size body, excellent features
Cons: in video mode there is face box or focus box, manual could be a bit more clear

I went from a 30D than 40D and now a 60D and I Just loved them all but each one has something that the other one doesn't have and I do hope that this is the last one..
I was very impressed with the part that you can take a picture without moving the ISO and not use flash all the time and the picture is grrrrrrreat looking. As for all of the camera things go, itis superb Handles nicely, wonderful camera.

Aside from underexposure issues...

I'm coming from an EOS Xsi and then 50D and the image quality of the 60D s of course excellent - as like its little sister and big brother - the 18mp T2i & 7D.
My only frustration is Auto ISO in Manual Mode - it consistently underexposes!
Canon needs to either boost exposure for Auto ISO in M Mode - OR - Please give us Exposure Compensation in M Mode - such an easy firmware fix!
Pros: excellent image quality on par with peers, very nice having auto iso - & expandable to 6400, very nice lcd resolution & nice vari-angle option, nice to have video vs 50d
Cons: auto iso in m mode underexposes consistently!, deciding if ai servo is same or worse vs. 50d, buttons have poor tactile feel vs even rebels, lower specs & performance vs rival peers
