I purchased the 60D as an addition to my 40D. I wanted to have one camera specifically for my telephoto lens so I did not have to keep switching the lenses around and risk dropping or getting dust in camera. I did not realize how many advancements were made from the 40D to the 60D. I thought they'd be almost identical. But wow, was I in for a shock. Not only have they increased the pix quality but also added some nice features like the LCD flips out and is adjustable, love that, and it seems to me to be quieter and faster. I am still learning all the new features and have yet to play with the video playback feature. So far am loving this new investment and have no regrets, wish I could afford to get one more to replace the 40D that has my telephoto lens on it.
Pros: quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
My first SLR camera and I am loving it. After a few outings with T2i and T3i, I decided on the 60D. The touch and feel plus the handling are comfortable surpringly for my small hands. It works really well with my 15-85 lens as well. The pictures quality are outstanding. I will enjoy this camera for years to come and looking forward to explore and push it to it limited usages.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
I have been very pleased with the overall image quality of the 60D, but recently, after 7 months of owning the camera, the grip on the body is starting to peel away at the tip of the shutter button and around where the thumb goes. It's annoying and feels like any longer it is like this, it is going to come off completely. This is very disappointing to me. Hopefully I can get this fixed. Other than that one little issue, the camera is great! Video is outstanding (what I mostly use it for) but pictures are just as great or better especially if you've got some nice glass. The menus are just as easy to navigate as any other Canon cameras, the buttons feel very nice and solid, and the screen is gorgeous and true to what it is actually being seen. Overall, a great camera, with a slight build issue. If they were to improve that, camera would get an A+, (currently at an A)

The 60d is an awesome camera it complements my full sensor cameras, specially when I use the 600mm lens, it increases my zoom by 60%. It's fast, the videos are great it is increadibly affordable comparede to what I seem in the past, it shows technology at it's best. a must have from ameteurs to professionals!

I recieved the Canon 60d as a graduation present from college, I asked for it. I am an inspiring director, editor, and actor. I've only had it for a month but now with my skills I've aquired from my video production job, I now am using it to shoot and director and act in a Full Length Feature Film, also a short film, and also possibly some wedding videos, and music videos. With this camera and the right software and skills, you can do anything that big production companies can do!! except super super Inception style Slow Mo seemlessly, can come close with timewarp fx though. but the 60fps with 720p is so smooth its epic, and the total control of depth of field on the standard lens is incredible. I had built this camera up so much in my head i thought it wouldnt live up to its potential, but it surpassed it! The night shot quality and low light is incredibly good, the iso range is amazing, but dont expect to take it into a cave and be able to see what your eyes see, you still need a little light. The colors are amazing. the ease of use is great. its durable, and quick to use on the fly. With this camera, you can do what you have pictured in your head, all you need are the actors and sets, and you can get those free, people love to be in movies that will look good. Oh and the swivel screen is a most!!!! For all you cinematographers out there, get the 60D nothing else will work.
