Better than great

I've had this camera for one year and it still amazes me on the quality of photos, ease of use, and functionality. I purchased the 'body only' because I had lenses from an EOS Elan iie film camera that I had kept in the closet over the early digital years. I was excited when the 60d came out because I felt it would finally replace that camera. Like I said, it still amazes me. This past month I purchased a 580exII flash unit and a 10-22 zoom. Each time, the camera functionality has been superb. That's why it's better than great!
Pros: ease of use, functionality, quality, can use older ef lenses
Cons: software does not work with mac os lion

Upgraded from Rebel XS

I updated from the Rebel XS. This camera is a huge upgrade. As many other reviews say this is more of a Rebel on steroids than a traditional XXD series, but that's fine with me. I like the solid plastic feel and don't think the magnesium body would really make a difference. The integrated wireless flash function is great as well. Unless you need the higher burst rate of the 7D buy this one over any of the Rebel's.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Amazing entry level DSLR.

This was my first DSLR and I'm so glad that it was. It's hard for me to pick and choose what to talk about because there's not one thing I don't appreciate about this camera. The swiveling screen has come in handy in situations where I can't see over crowds, so by tilting the screen down and holding the camera up I'm still able to get my shots. It takes great quality photos and I'd absolutely recommend this to any other amateur or beginner.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, easy to use
Cons: noisy, Heavy/Bulky

I bought this model for the swivel screen. Already owning the 7D and 5DmII, as well as a rebel T2i, I was looking to purchase an slr with a swivel screen for off angle, ans macro shots....and there it was. I also like the locking button in the functions knob, which is something the 7D lacks, and has cost me dearly in the past. I didn't buy this camera to replace any of my others, and therefore I cannot compare it. I do think it will be a useful tool for my outdoor hobbies. It is both light and small. I love it
Pros: swivel screen, locking menu knob, full featured

Great upgrade from Rebel

I got this camera after reading reviews and watching videos. It came down to this one of the T3i. I wanted the flip out screen, and the 60d having more cross type AF points seemed better. More is better right? The ISO performance kills my previous XSIs performance. It gets grainy when you get into the 2000s, but its not unbearable. I tend to do black and white when I'm using high ISO anyway. But I can get shots that would simply have been impossible on the XSI. I haven't played around with the video mode much, but so far its head and shoulders over my old hand held cam.
Ergonomics are much better for me. I have decent sized hands, and the 60d fits perfect in my palm. The Rebel feels like a toy in comparison. It has a good weight to it also.
I also love the way the shutter sounds. Like a pro camera clunk instead of the high pitched snap the XSI has.
I'm definitely loving this camera.
Pros: Fast auto-focus, Superior build quality, big jump in iso performance over rebel xsi

An Amazing Camera

I purchased the 60D as a replacement for my Rebel XTi, and I'm very satisfied with my purchase. My success rate for sports photography has gone up due to the better AF system. Coming from another camera that has a flip screen, I was very happy that the 60D has a articulating screen and the ability to reverse the screen is very handy for protecting the screen during travel. The convenience in being able to take pictures and HD video in a single camera is great. The camera feels very solid and is comfortable in my hands. I'm glad that this camera takes SD Cards since they can be put straight into my laptop. Overall I'm very happy that I went with the 60D.
Pros: amazing clarity, fast shutter speed, usefull articulating screen, uses sd cards, long battery life
Cons: no continuous video af

Great upgrade

I love this camera. The image quality is excellent in still and HD video. The still shot on high ISO is also very accurate and smooth. I do wish that canon would have used the 50D body on this camera , but it still feels solid and has a good feel even on the bigger lens. I like that you are able to rate the picture you take and go back to them instantly without going through all the picture you've taken. The price is reasonable, between the price of the T2i and 7d, but that's what this camera really is, a little bit of both.
Pros: excellent image quality on high iso
Cons: plastic body

Great for those with experience in video. This camera has an amazing build quality for its price, as well as a wide variety of features (shooting modes, filters) that really are a massive step up from the Rebel series. The downside of this camera is the rather short battery life as well as not being weather sealed. I am very content with the performance and have not had a single issue with its functionality. Articulating LCD does get in the way of the strap on occasion, but it does not feel fragile or breakable. For the photographers who want to play around with shooting angles, it doesn't get much better than this.
Pros: Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, easy to use
Cons: noisy, Short battery life
