Now I know...

I have been wanting a Canon EOS DLSR camera for a year or longer. Until now, I have been a point and shoot photographer. Anytime, I was able to get a good shot, I would credit my success to luck and God. Now I can say that God has let me buy this camera so I won't need as much luck.
I purchased my EOS 60D at Best Buy with the 18-135mm Lens Kit. It is everything I expected it to be and more. It is quiet enough to capture candid shots of my children without giving away my intentions as well as taking brilliant pictures of animals in their natural habitat as long as I stay hidden they don't know I am there.
The instruction manual is easy to read and understand, which is a bonus itself. It takes time to read through the large amount of information, but there is something to learn on every page.
This camera may cost a lot of money, but if you are someone who enjoys taking pictures and showing them off, it is worth every cent.
God Bless you all.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

I received the 60D as a college graduation present. I am an Advertising major with a passion for photography, and I work as a part-time wedding photographer. I have used the camera for wedding and engagement shoots as well as product photography, advertising projects, and family portraits. I could not be happier with the 60D's performance, speed, and quality. I LOVE this camera and would very highly recommend it.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

I have had the EOS 60D for about 3 months and consider myself a pro-armature, power-user. All I can say is that this camera is addictive and very very impressive from a quality and performance perspective. The flip screen on the back was why I bought the 60D versus the 7D and commend cannon for the design - I love that functionality.
I have to also add that Canon has done a great job of developing digital instructional material to accelerate learning of the many features of this camera and associated software.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, aesthetic design, cannon brand, on-line rich material

It's fast, the videos are great it is increadibly affordable comparede to what I seem in the past, it shows technology at it's best. a must have from ameteurs to professionals!

Best Upgrade from Rebel - Im Glad didnt buy 7D

I owned a canon t2i for about 4 months and shot video mostly. i loved the image and video quality on the 18mp sensor but the size was too light and small for me. I absolutely love the 60D the size and weight is perfect. FOr me its way better than 7D and it doesn't feel plasticky at all. The improved ISO range from T2i is also very good i really missed it in the T2i and the new layout of the buttons is amazing too. The swivel screen and manual audio gain control definitely make it the best for video work. Great camera and a really high quality Kit lens too. Im Glad i didn't spend more money for 7d.

Great camera!

I'm very happy with the purchase. It falls nicely in between the T2i and 7d - both in price and features. The camera feels solid construction-wise and I'm happy with the ergonomic design.
The deciding factors for me for going with the 60d over the T2i were: - All 9 focus points are cross-point - Faster maximum shutter speed - More shots per second
I saw the articulating screen more as an extra bonus. It's come in handy when taking photos over objects (crowds, fence at a baseball game, etc) and in getting low perspective shots of animals/kids.
For memory cards I recommend the Transcend 32GB class 10 - it works perfectly for both photo and video with the 60d.

Great Camera

This was an upgrade from the Rebel XT. I love this camera almost as much as my wife. I have read many reviews and usually focus on the negatives, but after listening to there complaints, it was the right price for what I needed. Supposebly this camera sits between the 50d and the 7d, right where Canon wanted it to be. If you want to spend the extra money for the 7d that only had one comparison difference, shooting speed, to me that was an extra 700 dollars, not worth it. The flip display is awesome, especially when trying to get a better angled shot. I can go on and on about how great this camera is, I bought it and I love it!
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, easy to use
Cons: Missing features/settings
