Super camera!

I've been a Canon SLR fan since the 70s when I bought my first AE-1 then A-1. I shoot mostly landscapes and nature to include macro (although don't own a macro lens yet) and I like shooting flying hawks.
The 60D provides many more features than the T1i and I especially like the 'C' setting which I have set for action shots (birds). I haven't gotten used to the location of the trash button but may someday. Other than that, the increased ISO offerings, the faster continuous shooting, the top display are all improvements I really like. BTW, I don't use the auto settings ever; either Tv or Av.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu

Great Upgrade from Canon T2i

I upgraded to the Canon 60D from my Canon T2i. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The difference in quality is amazing, and Canon nailed every little detail on this model. The one thing that I really love is the long battery life because having to lug around extra batteries everywhere I go can be a big hassle. The main uses for my 60D include sports photography and portraits, and I feel like it was designed exactly for those tasks. I really enjoy using my 60D and I highly recommend it!

I have had two other Canon camera's in the past. My last was a Dig Rebal 10mp. I bought the 60D and can't put it away. Fantastic camera. What a quality product.

quality is a no go!

Had the camera since november of 2010! the rubber grips are pealing off, they have spanded and the 2 sided tape that they use is not of good quality! Pop up flash stop working the third day of use, now it only makes a noise when selected and it wont pop up. The dial wheel next to the shutter realese does not react quickly and sometimes doesnt even react at all and finally my camera just started turning off by itself when i turn it on! something wrong with the on and off bottom. Please canon read this and contact me! I love canon products but this one just broke my heart!

Cons: Poor build quality

So close to perfect

Great for those with experience in video. This camera has an amazing build quality for its price, as well as a wide variety of features (shooting modes, filters) that really are a massive step up from the Rebel series. The downside of this camera is the rather short battery life as well as not being weather sealed. I am very content with the performance and have not had a single issue with its functionality. Articulating LCD does get in the way of the strap on occasion, but it does not feel fragile or breakable. For the photographers who want to play around with shooting angles, it doesn't get much better than this.
Pros: Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, easy to use
Cons: noisy, Short battery life

I own two 10d canons and i shoot pictures in my church and they have come out with a lot of noise.With this canond60 the difference is amazing!!They have let the sun in,pictures are absolutely beautiful and no noise.

Not a 7D but not bad

I have owned all of the XXDs but decided to downsize from the 50D last year and bought a T2i. The T2i, although a good camera, was just too small for me to grip comfortably so I upsized to the 60D. It really is a good compromise between the T2i and 7D. Although lighter and smaller than the 7D it is large enough to handle well and is fully featured. The menu structure makes more sense to me than the menus on the T2i. At 63 (and 6' 5") I'm not as flexible as I once was and the fully articulated LCD allows me to shoot at low angles much more easily. The view finder is large and bright (I use an EP-EX15 with my glasses) and the lighter weight (lighter than the 7D) allows me to carry it all day comfortably. With the 18 megapixel sensor you get professional quality images at a reasonable price. This camera is true Canon quality for the advanced amateur and gives the photographer a professional camera feel for less $. I converted to Canon after 20 years with other brands starting with the EOS Elan 7NE. I have owned all of the XXD models and Canon never disappoints when it comes to producing quality images.
