Best canon DSLR Ever

Very, very good camera. Amazing photo and video quality. It is not overpriced for its features. It was a great buy. I would recommend it to any photographer.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation
Cons: the menu is a bit difficult for a beginner

Great 2nd SLR

This camera was my second Digital SLR after having a Rebel for a few years, I decided "to get serious". I was getting ready to start traveling and wanted more pixels and absolutely loved the fully articulating screen. I used the screen as a variable prop while taking long exposure pictures in cathedrals in Europe where I couldn't use a tripod and had good results. I appreciated the locking mode dial and my crisp results. I wish it had a magnesium body and more moisture sealing. Much better battery life than Rebel.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, fully articulating screen, fast frame rate
Cons: plastic body, kit lens 18-135 focused slowly and noisily

Great video..

I have a Canon video camera HV30, great camera, but, I wanted to control Depth Of Field. The 60d allows me to do this and it also gives excellent video image quality.
Interchangeable lens make it a complete camera..
I look forward to the EOS 70D... hehehe

Great Pictures to be had

I purchased the 60D +18-135mm kit lens, as a replacement to an old and well used digital Rebel. This camera is amazing. It took a little time to get used to the new settings and menu options, but after the slight learning curve, it has produced some amazing pictures.
The high ISO settings in low light perform better than I expected. I have used this camera in museums, for sports, wildlife, and landscapes in Spain and the US since I got it.
The weight is perfect when traveling and the kit lens performs better than I thought it would. I have rarely used the other lenses that I own as this makes a pretty darn good "walk around" lens.
My only real concern is one that I have not experienced, but have seen, is the rubber peeling on the grips. Let's hope it stays put.

Great For Astronomy

The first Canon DSLR I bought was a EOS 400D and I must confess I have been very pleased with it until I took up Astronomy. The difficulty I had was focusing on stars & constellations through the viewfinder even when using an angled 1X3 Angled view finder. With the EOS 60D just pull out the LCD and press the magnify button and M-focus job done.
My only gripe is the on/off lever which is awkward to turn on & off but then again, I have fat fingers.
The EOS 60D is an Excellent camera at a good price especially if you shop around.

Right Choice step up

I had to buy a new Canon after breaking my old one. So, I decided to step up and get a semi-pro camera. 60D is giving more than I expect and I'm very please with it. I do all kind of photos (portraits, landscape, real estate, jewelry, products, pets etc) and I'm sure I will be able to do better shoots with this one.
I compared with other brands by reading all reviews, but this is my best choice. I got the lens 18-135 mm and fits perfect for what I need. It could cost little less or give some extras accessories, or Canon should have a fidelity buyer program to give discounts, etc.
I have to got to shoot now...Take care.

Great step up from 450D

This is the perfect camera for the amateur making the step up from a first SLR. The tilting screen seems like a gimmick but you find yourself using it constantly and wonder what you did without it. Most impressive is the performance at high ISOs, with images at 3200 still usable in print, anything lower than 1600 ISO is superb image quality and only rivalled by pro-level SLRs. The only possible negative is the price, although compared to the pricier 7D with very similar features, this represents a pretty good deal. Read the reviews from 3rd party website before you buy, but you WILL buy it.

Great Value!

I went from a10D to a Rebel Xti to the 60D. The 60D is a wonderful combination of weight, build and features. It works for everything I need and has enough weight to feel well-balanced with heavier lenses, although an accessory grip helps. The LCD on the back is fantastic; it has very high resolution. And the battery life (I have 2 in the grip) is amazing.
