I absolutely love my 60D. It's smart, easy to use, and high quality! I like that fact that it brings a lot of pro-features in a lightweight package. The controls are straight-forward and the the image quality is fantastic.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu
Cons: would like extra card slot
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nice Camera, Poor Build Quality

I have used this camera for about a year and a half. It is a good camera the only things I would like to see is a better lens package and better construction. The grips on my 60D are falling off. I sent it in to Canon repair, we'll see what happens.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu
Cons: Poor build quality, grips falling off

Great Camera

Chose the 60D over the 7D due to the flip out screen and have not regretted it in any way. Yes you lose a few focal points and a couple of frames per second but it lighter, and even though many complained about losing some buttons I find the controls very simple. The larger size compared to the rebel series fits my hand better and I feel it gives me a steadier platform which is handy as I shoot handheld almost all the time.
The video is very nice, I have not used it enough to say more.
Don't let the plastic case vs the metal of the previous D series concern you much. I've had mine below Niagara Falls soaking wet with no ill effect and it has handled days on the beach in varying weather, hiking and exposure to grand-kids. I would not recommend the latter mind you, but stuff happens! I feel that any impact that would damage it would kill about any camera, its that solid.
Picture quality is amazing, low light exposures compared to pocket cameras and film cameras will startle you. It makes it easy to freeze a bumble bee in flight, shoot fireworks, or grab those graduation pictures in a poorly lighted gym.
I could go on, and have, as you can guess I am extremely happy with my 60D.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, size makes for a good grip
Cons: like to see better lense package offered

HIGH QUALITY DSLR CAMERA

I upgraded from the S5-IS because I wanted a camera that would be more versatile than any I have owned before. After six weeks I am pleased with the performance of the Canon EOS 60D. With the right lens and settings I am able to capture crisp quality images under any lighting condition. I use the Canon EFS 15-85mm as my standard lens and it delivers superb images every time. The flip out LCD is also very useful. The built in flash is adequate for most settings, but I use a Speedlite 430 external flash for better results. I was a little disappointed with the video mode; if I don't start the auto focus on the camera by slightly pressing the shutter button the video automatically stops after a few seconds. Taking still photos at night with the ISO values of 1600 to 3200 yield some very good images. The camera with the lens feel balanced though a little on the bulky side; which for my hands is fine. Overall, the 60D is an excellent value for the photo enthusiast.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, quick control button
Cons: did not include an ac adapter., push button on user setting wheel is not needed., auto focus must be set before recording video.

Nice cam. It does a little of everything and at an affordable price (now).
Ok, the cons..
- I miss the MA what my 5D2 and 7D have.
- ISO performance could be better but it's not that bad, depending on what you shoot you might need to look into that of course. I usually use it under 800.
- The back of the lcd feels a little thin. one of the plastic elements is a little loose too..
- uses SD cards...
-weather seals is..well it doesn't really have one...
The goods....
- 18MP, same as 7D, lots of details, room for cropping, printed posters at 20x30 without any problem.
- lcd is better than 7D, 5D2,
- The tilting screen is awesome. One of the reasons I got it for. It is awesome for video (what I never do:)) but it is also great for low, high shots, macro and/or studio work. Every DSLR should have tilting screen. If the manufacturer do it right it won't take away from the sturdiness of the camera.
- Battery life is good and shares the battery with my other cams. :) !!
- top lcd
- quiet buttons. Yes, some don't like it I do. A lot! Much better than the clicking noisy ones on my other cam's, you'll get used to it quickly
My view is that as long as you have a decent cam you should focus on lenses first.
This is a very good camera to start with or to have as a backup. If you add some sharp lenses it can produce awesome images.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Poor build quality

Hot shoe did not work

This is my 4th Canon SLR. The picture quality is very good. The metering seems to work better than my 50D. However, I went to use the camera at Christmas 2012 and the hot shoe would not work with my external flash. Fortunately I still have my Canon 50D which works just fine with it. The 60D was still in warranty, and I should have sent it in but frankly I was preparing for a high volume of pictures that do not require flash, and the quality of the pictures exceeds the 50Ds IMHO, so I didn't mess with it.
IF the hot shoe wasn't dead, I would be quite happy.

Good Camera for Anyone

I have had my 60D for about 5 months and just love it. I take a lot of sports photos and it is just great for that. I own several other DSLR, several other brands and this is the greatest. I took a long time trying to decided if this would be a better camera and read a lot of reviews and test reports. I am really happy with my 60D. I have 3 lens and not disappointed with the results from any of them.. I did have a little trouble the video mode.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use

Super Pics and easy to use.

I've been away from the SLR scene for several years and am starting anew. Wow!! What a wonderful camera to start with. It takes great shots and is easy to learn. The automated features allow me to take some really beautiful pictures while I re-learn the real aspects of SLR photography. The 60D is a great camera for anyone who is serious about photography, but isn't ready to commit to a Full Frame format.
This camera has even allowed my wife (who is a Point & Shoot fan) to take some really great shots also. A great all-around camera.
Pros: Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
I would recommend this to a friend!
