Excellent camera BUT...

I am pleased with this camera in every aspect, IQ is excellent, the AF is way faster than my rebel, the build quality is better, and there are alot of features. I love the wireless flash controll. My only gripe is that the predecessor (50d) was made of magnesium, had a faster continuous shutter speed, and had fine focus adjustment. I feel like an "upgrade" for a semi-pro camera should not have gotten rid of these features. The 7d is a LOT more money for the people looking to step up from a 40d or 50d.
Pros: cost, performance

A wonder in hand

A camera equipped with all basic to many advanced needs of any photographer. Camera build is very robust and gives a good weight balance with lens. All the features are easy to use. One more important aspect is the image processing software. RAW images are easy to manage and the nice part about it is setting the white balance.
There are not many things to say about this camera. It just feels great to have this one in hand. As a photography enthusiast I feel proud and enjoy taking pictures with Canon 60D.
Pros: gives the satisfaction of taking a photograph.

Good Camera for Anyone

I have had my 60D for about 5 months and just love it. I take a lot of sports photos and it is just great for that. I own several other DSLR, several other brands and this is the greatest. I took a long time trying to decided if this would be a better camera and read a lot of reviews and test reports. I am really happy with my 60D. I have 3 lens and not disappointed with the results from any of them.. I did have a little trouble the video mode.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use
I would recommend this to a friend!

A wonderful DSLR camera, mediocre to poor support utilities.
Love learning more about my 60D, however on a Mac, EOS version 2, the photo transfer program, has an annoying "feature". Every time you manually run the program it insists on re-installing itself in the Mac's bootup "Login Items" list running in the background whenever the mac is booted. This degrades OSX reliability, is a security issue...yada yada and is not what this user wants EOS to do. It can not be disabled in EOS preferences, forcing the user to enter System Preferences to manually delete EOS from the Login Items list... every time... a pain. Looking for a replacement photo transfer program and will inform Mac and photography website forums about this program's un-user-friendly behavior.
Otherwise I love my 60D and have carried it on travels to 3 continents.

controls con: don't like lock on mode dial. never a issue on 40d, etc. there could be a design flaw re: internal flash. after using speedlight internal flash wouldn't pop-up. google search determined right slide stayed in contact w/microswitch. fix was to use pen knife &/or small jeweler's screwdriver to pry up. seems ok now. canon sez: return to factory if continues not to function. llf ps best camera i'v ever owned.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Solid Operation, easy to use
Cons: Complicated controls/menu
