Disappointed in the small amount this has lasted. I did love it but it’s clearly not good quality. I’ve only owned it for less than a couple years and used it for soups and simple things like frothing my milk sometimes. It now has trouble with simple things on and off. Kitchenaid just doesn’t not have the quality it used to at all, I much rather would have spent a little more on something that would last than have wasted my time with this.
We were gifted this blender and have used it under 10 times. The blender itself works very well. However, the pan guard is horrible. The idea is great, but it never fit snugly. It regularly came of during use. It finally found its way under the blades and was shredded in a sauce I was making. There are so many tiny plastic pieces in the sauce that I had to throw out the whole batch. The guard has come off before, so now I'm wondering how much of this plastic I've eaten. I'm shocked this hasn't been recalled because this is a choking hazard, in addition to a health concern. And since the blades are so close to the bottom of the blender, I worry this will scratch my pots if I don't use a guard. This is our 2nd Kitchenaid product to show its poor quality this year alone, so we'll be looking at other brands for a replacement blender.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far, so good. Using it to make extra virgin olive oil mayonnaise. Works like a charm the 2 times I’ve made it so far. Ingredients go in wide mouth pint canning jar and viola- EVOO mayonnaise without all the crap they put in it at a factory.
The blender seems to work great but the pan guard fell apart in its first use ruining my soup with plastic all through out
