Got my Ring installed two days ago, and I’m loving it so far! There’s a few option/features that tailor to my security needs. What I love about it the most is that I can block an area for which Ring won’t sense/monitor motion. My neighbor’s door is right in front of my door, about 5 feet distance, and to keep her privacy I blocked her area of the hallway so nothing gets recorded on her side just in case she doesn’t feel comfortable being on the video.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I installed my Ring Video Doorbell Generation 2 fifteen days ago. The main issue is some alerts are inconsistent especially the motion detection alerts. In order to resolve the issue I have 1) I've re-installed the device once. 2) I've relocated the device twice. 3) I installed it in an unobstructed position which is in line of sight of my wireless router. Live View ails to display from the Ring app installed on my Mac-Mini.
I regret purchasing it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We understand how vital it is to receive timely and accurate motion detection from your Ring Video Doorbell Gen 2. We value all the time and effort you have invested in resolving this matter. Ring devices were designed to alert you consistently and reliably of motion at your home. Having accurate motion detection is essential in providing the peace of mind that Ring strives for.
Your Ring Doorbell Gen 2 “sees” the world through a network of three linked passive infrared (PIR) sensors. These are heat sensors that detect motion by monitoring heat within the detection area. When a person or object that is warmer enters the detection area, the heat measurements change. The motion sensors register this change as movement and send out an alert. The sensitivity of the sensors can be adjusted to accommodate the motion detection you would like from your device.
If you haven’t already, we recommend that you visit your doorbell’s motion settings. Here you can review the Motion Frequency and Motion Zones, to ensure they are fine-tuned to your home’s environment. For instance, if your Motion Zones are set properly, but you miss motion events, the issue may lie within the Motion Frequency settings. If set to Periodically, the doorbell will check for the least amount of motion possible. You could consider increasing it to Regularly or Frequently to capture more motion events.
If you are experiencing delays in connecting to video, you will want to look at the connection between your wifi router and the Ring doorbell. The signal strength to your router is a key point for the connectivity of your Ring device. There are three main factors that can weaken your wifi strength:
1. Physical obstructions
2. Competing wifi networks
3. Other electronics

I love this thing! At first I was hesitant because I felt it was unnecessary but this isn’t just a fancy doorbell! This thing provides me so much peace of mind and security that I now want all of their products. I love the fact that when I can’t be at my home or am preoccupied within it I can monitor who is. Another feature I didn’t even realize was the neighborhood feature. Anyone else in your selected vicinity who has a ring report any issues such as stolen packages or suspicious people with their recorded video of the person. It’s like neighborhood watch!

Omg this is the best thing ever! I mean it doesn't cost much and installs easy! You can see everything right on your phone or tablet! Plus you get motion detector alerts too! I highly recommend this to everyone!
