I have had the Powerbolt for a few years now and it still works perfectly. Rather than keys, my grandchildren had their own codes. They loved it and still use them when they come home. All of the locks on my house are Kwikset locks that are keyed alike with the smart key feature.

Awesome Product and Support (If needed)

I bought the older version Powerbolt2 keypad lock. Absolutely the best value and very high quality product. The batteries lasted for almost 3 years and when I had to replace, I had a question and called the support number listed on their website (yes, it was actually easy to find). The person that helped me was awesome and I got all my questions answered clearly and quickly. I will never buy another brand. Thanks Kwikset!!

Another product ruined by corporate greed.

Bought one of these to replace an older Kwikset Powerbolt that we bought back in 2018. Right away, I was sorely disappointed when comparing the two products. The 240 has the same number layout but the backside is entirely cheap plastic. The older Powerbolt has a metal backside that feels entirely more secure. Wish I could find an older one, because I can already tell this isn't going to last more than a year or two at best.

Common manual key No-Go

Cannot be keyed alike with other Kwikset Powerbolt 240s. In other words, you cannot have two of these in your house and use the same metal key.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We're happy to help with your concern. The Powerbolt 240 features a traditional pin & tumbler cylinder, which can be re-keyed by a locksmith. The benefit of this type of cylinder is that it can also be master keyed for your convenience.
Alternatively, you might consider one of our SmartKey® locks, which allow you to re-key the lock yourself using the SmartKey Learn Tool. SmartKey cylinders cannot be master keyed.
