We've got a third-world power supply in our Denver suburb neighborhood. A little wind or light snow and the power's out. Apparently Excel doesn't know how to do proper tree trimming, and so neighbors' trees are constantly shorting the wires. I purchased two of the SmartPro LCD's: one to backup the media cabinet and provide a charging source for our phones; the other to power the wireless router, internet phone, and a couple of aquarium LED's that are a real pain to re-program if the power is dropped (if we're home we turn off the aquarium lights, so the backup power just keeps the timers powered). I travel half the month (airline pilot), and sure enough while talking to the family the other day from India the wind back home picked up and down went the power. I could hear the beeping of the TrippLite unit upstairs, indicating that it had picked up the power. Beautiful! My wife had gotten the brief before I left, and silenced both units. We then continued to have our phone conversation, and even skype'd over the computers a little later. These power supplies are life-savers, and when they're not picking up the power in an outage, they're saving our expensive media and computer equipment from all the inevitable power fluctuations from our - again - third world utility. Installation is easy, and the display and operation are totally intuitive. I'll never not have these things!
As the I.T. Director for a large company, it is refreshing to find a quality product at a good price. The Tripp-Lite brand has not only saved me headaches, but also on my budget. The warranty is easy to track and manage, the customer service is well above industry standard, and the products are always great. As for this particular item, it is a "Deploy and Forget" product. I purchased several of these, installed them, set them up with our monitoring system, and forget them (have no issues with them). I definitely will be buying more in the future (especially if I win the 'Fly for Free' contest =P )
I have bought at least 4 of these over the years for different business I have worked for and they have always provided fantastic value for the price. Primarily located next to our PoE switch used for VoIP traffic, we have had the phones keep running for over 1.5 hours when the power went down giving us network consistency during short outages and more than enough time to reroute calls if the outage was going to be extended. I have always trusted Tripp-Lite products for their quality, value and dependability.
Even though the times that are given for battery time are relative. When I checked the up time with the software, while our Plasma tv was on. The unit was showing 67.5 minutes of standby time. It blends right in with all of the other equipment on our A/V stand.
Pros: Compact, Great Protection, Green Friendly, Warranty, Well Labeled
After 4 months of use. Unit has been power cycling and seems to be cutting off power to plugged in devices once daily for the last 2 weeks or so.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Awesome UPS. Batteries lasted 4+ years which is amazing and it is easily serviceable allowing me to replace the batteries for $40 and have a brand spankin new system. Way cool.
This is one of those great products that you don't think about, works silently in the background, and simply works. I only wish I had purchased one years ago. My internet provider and computer used to annoyingly croak at the most inopportune times with less than fun results. Now all I hear is the occasional "chirp" in the background telling me that Tripp-Lite is doing its job. The form factor and digital display are an added plus.
After purchasing this product in store, I installed it the same day. I found the product quite heavy and well manufactured as far as cosmetics. All hardware was provided and seems to provide an accurate reading of incoming voltages. I immediate after installing this unit to a series of rack mount Tripp Lite power strips, performed a test. Everything worked perfectly. My only wish is that the alarm was a bit louder. There was little documentation about the in-line fuse with a lot of assumption that the installer would know about regarding loads. Especially the various on screen signs. Over all I rate this product so far as a 4 out of 5.
